Seeds from Scotch Pine

I have had something really neat happen..We took down our Xmas Tree yesterday and I noticed a few Pine Cones in it..I cut them of to keep.I went to take the skirt off and noticed what looked like seeds, sure enough there were 4 seeds on it..After further looking I found 2 more.Has anyone else ever had this happen? Mine are in the deepfreeze already and will be planted up in a couple of weeks..I hope they germinate as it would be really neat to have one grow from our Xmas Tree.

They should grow for you. I'd pot them up and put them outside. We have a row of mature Scotch Pines and are finding lots of seedlings growing in the tree patch the last few years. Protect them from the critters with screen or something if you have a potential problem.

Kinnika the same thing happened to a friend of mine,not from his christmas tree but from a bag of cone he bought there were a fue seeds in the bag he potted them up and put them outside two grow.i think thay are white pine very soft needles .hope yours grow.

You know ou 2 are right I think that is what I will do as I realy don't have room in the sunroom for them as i have a bunch of Daylily seeds to start and I need all the room I can get..Thanks for the advice. Wish me luck.
