Any advice?

I pulled this out of my closet, where I'd stored it in a black plastic bag for the winter-to check it and see if it needed a drink.

It looked like a monster from "Outer Space"!

Sooooo...since it seems so intent on growing, should I just pot it up in some fresh soil, and put under my gro lights, in my plant room (in my house)?

Also, should I cut it back to a few inches above soil line?

Thanks for any help you can give me. This is the first year growing a banana for me. I believe it is a Masu Basjoo?

Hey neighbor(well 3hrs away) pot it up and put in a sunny window till spring.it will straighten up on its own don't cut it.put it in a good loose potting soil mix and give a little water soluable fertilizer once a month till April.

Kyle,
thanks so much for your input (which I highly respect!).

I had gone ahead and potted up, already, before reading your post....just seemed the right thing to do....but WAS unsure about cutting it back, so only removed the very top part of the "curl", which I did before taking the above pic.

I have posted this info and pic in my DG Diary, and will document with prose and pics throughout the winter, if anyone is interested in watching "the Alien" come back to it's former beauty! LOL

Thanks again,
Neighbor Deanna :o)
