Hope everyone had a GREAT Christmas with family and friends. But now, it's time to think about the new year! What's everyone's "hoya resolutions" for the new year?! Here's mine:
1. Replace the hoyas that were lost in the storm.
2. "Focus" my addiction by choosing hoyas with features that attract me, ie large-leafed ones, "jurrassic-park" leafed ones, etc.
3. Continue along my learning curve with hoyas - learning from you guys, from Fraterna, etc.
How about you guys??
Hoya resolutions for the new year
#1-- and the most important and the one i'll work hardest on--unloading 25-30 pounds of this excess weight that i'm lugging around which will hopefully cause the back pain to go away!!!
#2--Getting all my hoyas labled correctly!!!!!---(that was a joke)!!
#3--My #3 matches Kabobs #2- focus more on aquiring the hoyas that really appeal to me, ie really distinct leaves and not trying to aquire every one simply because it's a hoya(which I dont do anyway--I was mainly choosing my hoyas by their flowers and going by pics thta I saw online. I've leaerned that this isnt a good way to choose which hoyas you want to grow as when they bloom they dont always look like the flowers that you see in the pics)
#4-- Getting them all to bloom for me this spring including the eriostemmas!
#5--My #5 can go along with Kabobs #3
#6--to try and keep my order to DL only half a mile long this year instead of a mile long such as it's been the past 2 times!!!(this'll be a hard one)!!!!
#7--to get me a nice slat house built so I can bring the hoyas out of the gh this year
That should about wrap it up!!

I think my most important resolution is:
#1 Stick with one growing medium, one fertilizing program/product and stop futzing around trying to 'do it better'.
#2 Pay more attention to details
#3 Get more huge plants out on trees!!!
#4 Get a life. Then add painting to that life!!!
Happy New Year everyone.
My Hoya Resolutions:
#1 To take the time and learn how to pronounce their names correctly.
#2 To take the time and learn how to describe them properly, leaves, flower parts, etc.
#3 Buy Carols big hoya's that she plans on planting up the trees!!
#4 Take up the slack on Davids order to David Little!!
#5 Get them all replanted this year in my new and improved soil & into Awanda's squat pots.
#6 Get them all downstairs in there new growing quarters, and learn how to controll the environment in the GH so I can go on vacation to Montana this year and attend my niece graduation.
#7 Trade out the hoya's that really dont do well for me in my climate. ( cut up and ship to Diane and Karen )
#8 Try to devot more time to my husband.
#9 Karens #3 Davids #5
Ok here's mine:
1. Take very good care of hubby who encourages my love of plants
2. Finish my hoya list
3. Hold off on buying more hoyas until I get the larger greenhouse (March)
4. Buy loads of hoyas once I get new larger greenhouse
5. Set up my new online store
6. Take care of me so I can take care of hubby and hoyas
Blessings,
Awanda
ah. very simple:
1. grow them better
2. prepare to spread the love - being a recent recipient of extreme generosity :-)
1. Get a greenhouse that can withstand hurricane winds.
2. Fill the greenhouse with heavenly scented hoyas, jasmines, and epi's.
3. Continue to enjoy life and all it has to offer, and share with others.
Happy New Year!
1. don't kill the one's I already have
2. don't kill any future ones I may buy
I try to keep it simple
Hello all!!
My resolutions are simple as well.
1) Find places for all the hoyas I have.
2) Make room for the new ones I acquire, including the few I managed to pick up while home for Christmas.
3) Get better at pest control-I vow to win against the mealies and aphids.
4) Find a guy who supports my plant addiction (actually at this point I shouldn't be so picky, but a girl can dream right?)
:) Kim
My resolutions this is are:
1.To learn all I can from all you wonderful people about these Wonderful Hoyas
2. To try and remember everything I learn from all you wonderful people.
3..Don't kill the Hoyas I already have.
4. Add to my collection
5.Keeping my fingers crossed I finally see my 1st Hoya Bloom.
Happy Hoya Filled New Year Everyone! : )
Nancy
The one resolution I'd like to keep is to finish my website. It doesn't seem to be getting along very well at the moment. So I've decided to try and make my blog entries more specific so that I can add them into the website.
I think also I should resolve not to buy any more plants until I've figured out where I'm living and whether I have space for them (this may be very very hard!!!)
Best wishes to everyone for the New Year!
Hills
