Good Grief, that should keep you plenty busy. Lucky it's too cold here to order any or I would be in the boat right beside you.
Happy Growing !!

Nice order ! No your not crazy :))
My first large leaf order a few years ago I bought like 100 leaves from Bloomlovers ! two years ago I order 200 bages about 400 leaves from Faye Wagman and at the same time Blooming jungle was having buy two get one free I got almost 200 leaves from her ! Not to mention all I had in-between and from trades :)) When we had sold our other home two years ago I slurged on all those lesaves and babies were mostly shared with people on DG's and leaves :))
Have Fun !

I always do my bookings for plants this time of year because come Feb. I'll be back out in the greenhouses potting up,dividing, etc, setting up display areas, and getting my shop ready for a new growing season so I make plant and supply orders 3 months early then I don't have to hustle at the last minute ordering...plus my vendors generally give discounts for pre-booked orders and every little bit saved helps the bottom line.

I was very sick lol Oh how I loved growing Avs by leaf ! My local group got me started with bags of named leaves , a whole package of solo cups 3 oz. with hole in them, plastic box soil-less mix and more ! I had done a few here and there before but I fell deep in love and for a few years I kept 200-500 leaves down all the time. I got many from trades, many at AV shows only paying 50 cents a bag . I fount some of the rarest were from trades. I had a large trade back a few years ago we trades back and forth a good 70 different leaves even I had some Strep babies she wanted ! I had also grown by leaf. I grew for the love of growing and sharing ! Every plants I bought I shared leaves from and put leaves down !
My boxes started at 6 quart a few here and there until I had 35 of them. Then my husband bought me the larger ones that helf more solo cups !
Oh my so much fun !
What type of Nursery do you have ? Do you have an on line store or just local ?
Hope you get many, many babies !

I am simply amazed and astonished myself! 600 leaves plus means literally thousands of plantlets. Trying here to imagine that many plants. You must have had a huge growing area, VT! My head is spinning thinking about giving away and shipping 'thousands' of plants/leaves mostly to DGers. My next question is, where do you get all your energy? I get overwhelmed at times with what little I have compared to you.

Bigred - Can't wait to hear how you like your order received from Belisles. Good selection you've got going.

I had several thousand av plants at a time back when I was selling them but I don't recall ever ordering 600 leaves at a time. I bow before your great and serious...er problem than mine...LOL

I'm just a small hobby grower ,mainly perennials, working alone so I only retail and wholesale locally. I keep trying to get family members to set up ebay store to sell plants but no body wants to do it. I don't have time nor do I like doing masses of packaging and shipping.

Snowrose,
I'll post when I receive them.I believe you were the one that said you were disappointed in the size of episcia you got from her. That's the reason I placed my order for rooted episcia stolons so early so she'd have time to get them rooted good and some size on them.

Bigred...I just got unrooted stolons from them. Took a long time to receive the knarly little things. Maybe putting your order in early will good. I hope you get some nice plant material. I will say, the best thing I did get from them was a healthy strep leaf..'Constant Nymph'.

Snow ~ Funny thing Is I started them when we lived in a two bedroom trailer. Then two years ago we moved to a smaller one bed room trailer we bought for a Thousand $$ Hubby gutted it out did over. Just like the one before we sold. It was 12 ft. by 48 with small ad on florida room used for my garden room. We did move to a 3 bedroom , two, living room, large screen proch and screen room in Nov, next door but I don't get out of bed anymore if only once in awhile for a half hour or less maybe one or every couple weeks depending if I can.
When I bought my first namded three blooming Avs I was never going to grow by leaf. 9-12 months for blooming plants . I was not expected to live that long.
After being given a few leaves and how fast they grew I fell in love. Babies grew fast and healthy and easy. I had a set up that was so easy anyone could water for me. In the begining I was in my wheel chair all day never napped. I can't lift heavy or large items not even turn a key in a door or to start a car but these little babies I could do !
They gave me much joy :))
As soon as the babies were good size they went to new homes always in new pots ! Back a few years ago when my daughter was in
College I'd send people plants and have them send her the shipping money . Many people sent extra. She'd say Mom where are you getting all these plants from. lol
One Summer for her Salvation Army day camp for their gardening week I donated 30 plus babies in solo cups in bloom. I also donated 30 green and 30 white 3 oz. pots all new for the kids to paint . Then I also sent the gallons zip lock bags of soil-less mix we mixed our own ( Hubby mixes it) so the kids could trans-plant their plants into their newly painted pots. All the kids even High School age loved them !
Many plants went to friends, family, neighbors, Nursing homes and more !
Many went to people here on DG's.
I never had much energy .Well I should say I do have energy just my muscles weak and I was losing more and more muscles each day givng me the ability to move. When I could get out of bed wether 5, 15 or an half hour I would enjoy time caring for my babies, plants. My Husband and Cna, Nurses and Voluntaires helped me a lot too !
I finaly had to get rid of them all. HUndreds went to local Av club member that came to our home and bought leaf pots, babies and the largest plants. I sold everything potting tables, stands light fixtures.. this past summer.
Now most days I don't get out of bed and when I do it's only for short amount of time.
We also enjoy growing by seed and garden beds outside. We have to hire people now eto do any garden prepration or trans-planting as neither of us can do this anymore.
There is nothing like growing African violets by leaf and sharing babies ! Our groups Motto was to Grow, Show and Share !
It never took much energy or time when set everything up easy . It was a joy to be able to grow them ! You also have to figure that's all I do. I can't work or drive, or clean, or do laundry, or cook , shop, walk,
It's a time in life when you have just a little bit of energy ,strengh movement what ever it's called lol what ever time it is , I use it for fun enjoyable things !
