Am. Meadows sale now-How did last spring sale bulbs perform?

I'm filling a big cartload of sale items. How did sale products do for you last year?

They don't list bulb sizes - this seems unusual, compared to other online sources, like Brent & Becky's, Touch of Class, Buggy Crazy, Blooming Bulb....

(I am spending lots of time looking at pictures...lol...bet others are too, 'cept for the holiday stuff! :-)

Well, thank-you 4paws for mentioning the sale at A.M. I finally bought a Sprekelia and some new Zantedeschias.

Love that they referred to Katherine Hepburn in the movie "Stage Door". Kate's character first woodenly speaks the "calla lilies" line in rehearsal for a play (" Enchanted April") within the movie. She finally speaks the lines with conviction during a performance of "Enchanted April" with ad-libs made all the more poignant because of the death of fellow Broadway hopeful Kaye, who helped her with her interpretation:

"The calla lilies are in bloom again. Such a strange flower, suitable to any occasion. I carried them on my wedding day, and now I place them here in memory of something that has died...Have you gathered here to mourn, or are you here to bring me comfort?...(She touches the ring on her finger given to her by Kaye) I've learned something about love that I never knew before. That I never knew before. You speak of love when it's too late. Help should come to people when they need it. Why are we always so helpful to each other when it's no longer any use?...This is my home. This is where I belong. Love was in this house once, and for me it will always be here, nowhere else...One should always listen closely when people say goodbye because sometimes they're, they're really saying farewell".

Thanks, Robert! Makes me want to go get that flick right now. I don't know if I've seen it; most movies don't stick with me, but I do love Hepburn. :-)

The single thing, if only one from American Meadows, that I must get, is the purple calla lily.

I placed a large pre-order for fall bulbs from American Meadows this past Spring and they were of good size and all the bulbs were nice and firm. By doing the pre-order I saved lots of money off regular pricing and assured I would receive the bulbs I wanted for the Fall planting. They were shipped to me at the right Fall planting time for my zone. I was very pleased with the bulb quality. I am hoping to see lots of pretty flowers this Spring.

I couldn't have been more pleased with their fullfillment of my pre-order...they got it all right and I received every single selection I had ask for.

I am glad to hear that you were pleased with your order. I have looked at their site but never ordered from them.
