We have some new neighbors who bought a beautiful Golden Lab last spring. Whenever he'd escape we'd help out with the hunt and hold him, call the people and they'd come and get him. It happened twice this morning and I called each time.
The second call was the most upsetting to me. The man said they've decided to let him run free! I guess I should mention we live on a peninsula (small as it is with just 45 homes) and people just don't let their pets run wild. The man asked me if the dog causes me any trouble and I told him it's not a problem in the winter but once my zillion daylilies are in bloom (and the asparagus in the field where the man has seen me working just a week or two ago) it will be a problem.
I don't see it as being fair and wanted your opinions. They have an acre of ground and could fence it in or get the dog a better collar or the invisible fencing (they have the money!) so what do I do now?
I'm not blaming the dog but I think the owners are being totally irresponsible.
