Are n't they so cute. LOL. I have been babying these guys for 4 months now, I was doing something wrong, and emailed a friend, and he said to cut the leaf back severely, I had whole leaves stuck in those cups, so I did, cut it into a 1 in square, and closed the lid on the clear container so humidity could form and within 1 week they started to immerge finally. I'll know better next time on how to get babies faster.
There is one here i'll be posting a picture of, I just stuck it in the pearlite about 2 weeks ago, so it's not got babies on it yet, but you should see it, it's so werid, will let you know which one it is when I post it.
here are some of the babies.
Names are on the cups I didn't write them down with the picture though.
First time for babies, LOOK!!!
Looks like you are on your way. Some will form plantlets at the junction of the petiole and leaf and at the soil line. If you build up your soil close to the leaf, the plantlets at the junction should root as well. Most of my soli-mutata plants have done it this way. Some are small plantlets but this one is ready for a bigger container.
oh that is so cute. Love the leaves. thanks for the info
Atta Girl Kathy_ann!!! (doing a happy dance for you!)
I've had some weird ones develop babies all along the stem! They can scraped off with an exacto blade and will root. Strange how Mother nature does her thing!
Great job!
(p.s. great job too Butch!!! Nice Soli!)
