An old hybrid under scrutiny..

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

This white hybrid..done back in 97 is blooming after returning to the nest.I sent the seeds to a friend to grow them out. The report says this plant blooms heavily(true) and has very long large flowers(true) they last up to 7 days and deals great with heat and humidity. Was a cross of Betty Marshall X Ver Alba. one bad point...no fragrance..to bad scent. so no introduction for this one. This is why we should CULL all plants that have less redeeming qualities then their parents had.We already have 900+ hybrids and more every day. Too many cultivars. Not every seedling is worthy of keeping...so when the time comes......be ruthless.Discard, do NOT multiply plants with poor traits. It weakens the gene pool.(steps down off his soap box) LOL

Good message Kyle. Thanks for reminding us. Happy Holidays.

Can you use this one in one of your great planters, Kyle? Sounds like it would be so perfect with its long heat life and all the blooms.

Kell, not sure yet I haven't tried it at work yet. May try it this summer.
