Shhhhhh........ I did it again. LOL

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Another plant just jumped into my arms.
Well actually two,
Two Black bat Flowers. LOL

Beautiful, huge plants.
I cant post pic's at this time, as they are stashed in my truck. LOL
Cant let hubby see. = (
He thinks I'm crazy as it is.

Will post pic's of the beauty's tomorrow.

Can anyone tell me how to get seeds from these to grow my own.
I know it can take a few months to germinate and even longer to flower that's OK,
its worth it.

One of the flowers looks to have died and i see several seeds, I'd like to save them.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

I have been told...take the seeds from the casing and dry for a few days. Then spread ON top of a light medium and do not cover....keep damp and warm. this is how I am told they germinate.

GG-had to laugh. I've been ordering plants and sending them overseas to a friend to hide them from the old man. Not to mention ordering from Horn's Cannas which will mysteriously arriving in spring and oh yeah, the gift certificates I've bought for myself so I'll be ready for spring.

Addiction...think so!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Ok Plants are out of car and mixed in with the rest of the gang out back.
Doubt hubby will ever notice. LOL

Kwz: I can Identify. LOL Yes its an addiction!! A great one at that. = )

Aloha: thanks for the info. I cant find too much on the net on how to sow these seeds but the little I did read says not to sow deeply or in soil too heavy something light and keep moist.
Just wish I knew when the seeds were ready.

Happy: thanks I'll need it lol Im not too good with plants that need lots of attention long term. I heard these can be fussy at times.

Those are beautiful!! I have a car that contains hidden plants that will be stashed in the large pile of pots on the patio waiting for spring planting!! ( I am trying to be sneaky but eventually he will catch on)

I also bought myself some gift certificates. What I would like to know is how the sending plants over seas works? :o)

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

GG, where did you find those beauties? I plan a little road trip to FL over the holidays and I might have to check out a few nurseries.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

lol GG you do the same thing I do with plants when I don't want DH to know

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Shhhh I did it again. LOL

I have an EE hidden in the car right now. LOL
will post pics tomorrow. Its beautiful paid 8.00 dollars for it.
Just couldnt pass that up. And its huge!!

I need a program or something ......... this is getting bad. = )
I just cant help myself . I love them. Gardening is so relaxing.
My husaband and family dont understand it.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

For many years my DH never noticed one flower pot from another and it was easy to sneak in new plants. All of a sudden he appears to be able to discern what is new. This is a bad thing (he fusses about the $) and a good thing because finally he is taking a serious interest in plants and I sort of like that. It just means I am going to have to be more clever in my acquisition of new material. LOL

Pssttt...

Got my gift cerficates yesterday
Looked at the catalogues
Then hid them, quick

Got pictures of my plants living overseas
They look awesome
Put the email in a folder so no one would look

Not supposed to know, but
I think he got me
A GREENHOUSE for Christmas!

Can't wait...about to wet myself!
I knew I was doing the right thing when I paid almost $500 for the Xbox 360 he wanted & games!

I'm afraid if there was a support group, it would turn into a co-op or trading circle...there's an idea!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

ROTF,

Oh my goodness you are too funny!!! " trading circle" LOL

What'd ya get? what kind of plants I mean?
must send pic's once you get them.
I love looking at plant pic's just as much as I love getting them

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

ardesia: I got the plant at Walmart

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

GG-I have some pics but can't post them cause they're in my email.

Can't figure out how to send them without putting them in a folder, which could be recognized.

I'll dmail you the link, but promise you won't share!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

kwz: you should be able to " send them " to your " pictures" folder on your computer, then from there put them up.

Or copy to your pic folder then once in here go to browse and pick out pic and post.

I couldnt see them, only a screen with a sign in showed up.
