Chilling Allium?

Wichita, KS(Zone 6a)

I have some alliums gladiator, purple kings and aflatuense. I did not get them planted, the ground is hard and it cold outside. Do I need to chill them for the winter and put them out this spring? Or pot them up, leave them outside? Or pot them up & store them in the garage? Or keep them inside til spring? Help! alliums are new to my garden and I haven't a clue.

St. John's, NL(Zone 5b)

I have grown all those alliums and they certainly get a winter around my area. Thus I would suggest they be potted and kept in a cold area just above freezing then carefully transplanted outside in the spring once the frost is gone. If there is no frost in the ground now, then I would go ahead and plant them outside. Plant them a little deep so the frost does not reach them so fast. I've planted tulips in mid-December and they bloomed the best kind and you are a zone warmer than me.
