Canna 'Tropical White'

Hello All.

Althought this may not be of much interest to true Canna fans, I thought I would share it nonetheless. For several years I have grown Park Seeds' Canna 'Tropical' series from seed and absolutely love them - compact plants (about 24" tall), bright colors and heavy flowering all summer long. I just received the 2007 catalog and was thrilled to see that there is now a white Canna in the series. It's described in the catalog as "Pure white with occasional red freckles". I've never seen a white Canna. It sounds great to me - I've already ordered the seeds! Next spring just can't get here soon enough.

Erick, the rose color is lovely. Will be looking forward to pictures of the white.

Last summer. "Sigh...." ;) That's a really pretty color. Can't wait for "canna season" to come again! :)

Is the tropical rose from park seed? That is beautiful!

marieortiz, that is indeed Tropical 'Rose' from Park Seed. Park has offered Rose, Red, Salmon and Yellow before, but 2007 is the first year that they've offered White (to my knowledge). I really like these short Cannas for a change.

I think I too will be placing an order with park seed. That tropical ros is beautiful and I can see it now right next to the white :o)
