Just received these babies from Aloha Hoya's! I only ordered 2 little ones since I'm pretty new to Hoya's .... and Carol sent an extra ..... a freebie! That was so sweet .... Thank You Carol! The cv Sunrise actually has a bloom on it and oh, it smells heavenly! I hope I can keep these alive and have them grow up to be big and strong so I can share with others!

Congrats on your new babies.
Thanks Y'all! I am really looking forward to these growing bigger and hopefully blooming for me! The 'Sunrise' came with a bloom and it smells so nice .... just can't wait for them all to grow up!

Nice score, Lin!
Packages from Alohahoya are like 'gifts' themselves, aren't they? They always exceed my expectations.
Have fun!
(How are your cummingiana cuttings doing, BTW?)
Hey Nan: My little babies from Aloha Hoya's are great! I will be ordering from them again in the Spring, I'm sure! Oh, my cummingiana cuttings you sent are rooting already! Doing great ... you sent very healthy cuttings - I really like the looks of this one. The 'curtisii' (think that's how it's spelled) are practically dead ... those cuttings just don't like me at all. LOL. I thought I had lost the Hibiscus you gave me, but it looks like it's sprouting out, so I have hopes! Will keep you posted.
Well, a my DH just made me a milkshake, so gotta go! I had oral surgery this morning and for the next 24 hrs can only have cool/cold liquids! I ain't gonna complain about Milkshakes! LOL. Swelling has gone down a lot and I haven't had any pain, just taking OTC Advil and just a little soreness, so I feel lucky!
TTYS,
Lin
Curtisii doesn't like me much, either Lin - and I know several others who also have trouble with it, so you're not alone!
I SOOOOO wish that I could grow a BIG FULL pot of that one, as it really is one of my favorite foliage plants on the planet! But I've tried and not succeeded!
So glad to hear the cummingiana is doing well, though.
Wow, I'd thought you'd lost that Hibiscus, too - so that's encouraging news. If you need another cutting, just let me know - you'll love that one!
Wishing you an uneventful and rapid recovery from your oral surgery!
Thanks Nan .... surgery went well, still have a swollen jaw, looks like I have mumps on that side, but haven't had any pain at all so it went well. Couldn't eat anything for 24 hours except milkshakes .... Yum! Today I have progressed to Soup, and Milk Shakes, and Smoothies! I made a huge pot of home made chicken soup today ... so will probably get tired of soup by the weekend! LOL. Don't think I'd ever get tired of Milk Shakes though .... wonder why it works that way! Dr's office has called twice .... they asked if the pain medication is doing okay and I have to remind them that I didn't get a RX for pain medication. Dr. had said he didn't think I would need anything other than OTC Tylenol or Advil. I took Advil yesterday about 2 hours after the surgery ... a little soreness and that was it. I told the Dr. and the RN that I would call their office if I had any bad pain and needed something stronger than Advil. Haven't had any pain all day today either .... just the darn swelling, but that is to be expected. I am using ice packs off and on for that. I am on Amoxillin for the next 7-10 days too, as a precaution.
Well ... I didn't mean to get off subject.... sorry! My new little Hoya's from Aloha Hoya's are doing great and
I am anxious for them to grow. My hanging basket of Lacunosa is blooming again and it smells wonderful!
And, I am so happy that my Hibiscus cutting has sprouted new leaves ... I really thought it had died, it had lost all the leaves and the top was real dry, so I cut the top back and ignored it for awhile and all of a sudden noticed it had sprouted leaves! So, I think it's going to be okay.
Well, gotta go take my medicine. Chat later,
Lin
