Golden Thumbs?

Ashdown, AR(Zone 8a)

I think the white is going to be to bright to show other colors in the bloom but this is my av received in trade about 3 yrs ago. I haven't learn to tweak brighteness yet.

I wish I had one. Might be some in threads. Photos in FC only show flowers. I grew many or these by leaf for a couple years gave them away. It's an ecellent plant ! My last one had some yellow and blue in the blooms I sent it to Jan " Jannich" not sure how it made out for her.
Poor Jan lost her A/C during the summer, lost plants when she went away and the friend taking care of them ended up in the hospital and a couple weeks ago had some plants die from it getting too cold at night :((
Golden Threads (7957) 10/08/1993 (S. Sorano) Double white star/yellow mottling. Medium green, plain, ovate. Standard
Wish I could find a picture of one when I first started growing them, reminds me of mine.
Golden Threads is a slow grower likes, less light and is one of those varties Rob from violet barn speajs about can lose their crowns.

I grew mine in natural light.
This is what I meant about the crowns.
Question: Recently, I have experienced a problem with the center growth on some of my violets. On some otherwise healthy plants, the center growth has disappeared. The plant would remain healthy, then eventually sprout suckers from the center.
ANSWER; http://www.robsviolet.com/faq_page_2.htm#no%20center

Sounds like it except the blue. Mine sometime have blushes and light streaks of pink.

Cool pink ! Well mine never had blue in it all these years just once !
And I grew many of them.

I've never lost the center on this plant.

My av "Tranquility"is just a few days to opening. One of my favs.

OH it may never happen just yellow flowering Av's are known to do this for no reason. They also like less light and most the time grow slower. Most times yellow flowering Av's cost more too.

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

This place is not open anymore wish they were. But their web sight has a load of good info !
When I first got my Golden Threads they were selling pretty high $$
These special yellow varieties need less light and fertilizer than other varieties.
They are also more easily damaged by cold temperatures.

Due to extreme popularity, and the fact that Yellow's are slow growing - - Expect a delay when ordering Yellow Violets
