Just posting a couple of photos of things blooming, despite my travels. The first is Kohleria Sunshine, which is a shocking combo of coral and pink.
Kohleria Sunshine and my favorite noid AV
Hi Key,
Very nice... Kohleria Sunshine is a beauty and not easily found. Striking...
Beautiful !
I love Kohleria Sunshine too! So pretty!
Key: What Beautiful Plants! Do you keep them in terrarium's or just under lights? I think someone told me that Kohleria's are great for terrariums? I almost bought one recently, but decided to wait until spring. Your Noid AV looks just like one of my noids. I bet someone here in DG could ID it for you! You should post that photo on the AV forum. I had one of mine ID'd earlier today!
Great Growin!

Hi Ki,
Kohleria Sunshine is awesome! Did you grow it by seed?Where to get them? How big does it get.So many questions.I love the colors.
And your noid is verry pretty to.
Please post more pictures of your beatiful gessies as they bloom so I can drool alittle more.LOL.
The Sunshine I got from a friend. There should be quite a few floating around by spring as I sent a number of people on this forum a rhizome or two. Like most kohlerias, it is very easy to propagate and this one seems to send out a lot of rhizomes too.
Kohlerias do fine out in the open. They will die back after blooming and during cool seasons, but indoors you can keep them ever-blooming as soon as you have enough growths/rhizomes to stagger their blooming. (That might sound complicated but they take care of themselves.) I think perhaps the smallest ones might like a terrarium up north, but I doubt anywhere on the east coast south of the carolinas would need to do that.
They're perfect! So pretty!
I'm one of the ones you shared Sunshine with and she's coming along great! ; )
Hey Ki. These are gorgeous. Love the color combination of the Kohleria
Beautiful pictures, Ki...as always :)
