Hi Everyone! I'm here to announce the grand opening of a photo gallery, created by the very distinguished grower and hybridizer Kukiat Tanteeratarm. They are his seedlings and his photos that he is sharing with the world for the very first time. You will see photos of never-before-seen cultivars that will astound you. I am honored to call this man my friend. Enjoy! Here's the link: http://webjungles.com/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=42&g2_itemId=5536&g2_GALLERYSID=b518cd6670f66bf6ae99a8fb49846c11

Extraordinary Photo Gallery of Plumeria Seedlings
Thanks Clare !
Clare: Thanks so much for the link to those Beautiful Photo's! I am new to Plumeria's .... only have 1 that I got from another DG'er for postage. Don't know the name of it, but maybe if it survives and blooms for me next summer, someone here on DG will be able to ID it for me!
Plumeria's are such Beautiful plants and I hear they are very fragrant too! I am so looking forward to seeing how my baby does for me! So far, so good ... it's dormant right now. Just hope in the spring I can get it to leaf out and grow and survive!
Thanks again for posting the link to your friend's web photo gallery!
Lin
Clare, they are so very beautiful. I wonder how the fragrance is. Beautiful blooms, thanks for giving us this link. I really enjoyed looking at his creations.
maureen
WOW!
Clare, do you know if he cross pollinates
or does he just grow alot of seeds to get his varieties?
Thanks for the link and photos.
double wowzers on #42! #37 pretty cool also.
Thanks, Everyone, for your comments and excitement! I get so excited looking at these pictures; I just am so impressed with their beauty!
Lin, I'm sure you will do fine with your one, and after you smell it, you will want many more. Be sure to check out the Sticky Thread when you get a chance as there is a lot of information there that might be helpful to you with growing them.
Maureen, reds typically don't smell as strong as some of the other colors, but each flower has its own individual fragrance, and I'm sure many of those smell awesome! Kukiat is a member here and will have to fill us in sometime about the fragrances of these flowers. I do know that the flower that was named after me is a mild sweet jasmine.
Dave, I don't think he physically pollinates the flowers at this time. They are just pollinated naturally in his garden. I think he does sow a lot of seeds; however, he says that only the best named cultivars make the best seedlings.
Nery, there are so many that I like that it is hard to choose my favorites! Some of these just haven't been seen before. Clare Corre, Celebration, and Marble Ice Cream are right there at the very top of the list for me!
UH OH, feeling that familiar twang of jealousy coming on!!!!
Beautiful.
Clare, Thank so much for such a wonderful introduction. I am honored to call you my friend as well.
I am a plant enthusiast and my special interest is tropical flowering trees including plumerias. I am not the hybridizer by any mean but a grower/collector like most of us here. I still consider myself a newbie in the plumeria world.
Maureen, I have no record of the fragrance of all cultivars at this time. It is the area that I have to work on. I recall that Exquisite has strong coconut scent. Plumeria #042, Celebration and Marble Ice Cream have the scent similar to Grove Farm.
Dave, I do grow a number of seedlings each year hoping to get a few good one. As Clare mentioned, the flowers are pollinated naturally. It is so exciting when new seedlings bloom for the first time. It has been quite rewarding so far.
Nary, I like #042, too. Its inflo is very large. One of my favorite is Exquisite which has heavy texture, ruffle edge petals, rare burgundy color and pansy type flower with great keeping quality.
Again Thanks everybody for visiting my gallery. Hope you all enjoy them as much as I do.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Nice to see you posting such beauties! I wish you Happy Holidays!
Brad
Hetty, bbinnj, Clare and Brad: Thanks for your compliment.
Hetty, you are welcome to Thailand. I hope to have a chance to meet you, too. I do not know when Luc and Carol will be in Thailand. I have some schedules to travel in Spring as well.
Clare, Thanks for the heads up. ((HUG))
Kukiat, welcome and thanks for the great pics.Thailand must truly be a wonderous place with all the flowers and tropicals grown there.Someday I will get there with my friend that keeps trying to get me to visit Thailand. He goes about once a year. Now I see why.
Kyle :-)
Thanks for the hug, Kyle. Boy, do I love hugs:-D
Kukiat, Kyle is on a quest to find a solid yellow with no white at all on the outer edges of the petals. Isn't that right; Kyle? Bali Palace is the closest that I've seen to pure solid yellow, but it may have some white also around the edges. If a solid yellow is to be found, it is probably in Thailand.
Kyle, you should definitely go to Thailand if you get the chance and can go. I'm going to try to go as well in 2008 possibly. Luc of Florida Colors is planning a group trip now for spring of 2007. Here is the info.:
"Hello folks.
Last call for the fabulous Plumeria Safari Trip to Thailand March 16, 2007, to March 23, 2007. Potential for a side trip to Singapore during Frangifest, 2007.
I have the final details on itinerary and cost of this once-in-a-lifetime plumeria trip to the premiere horticultural country of Thailand. They are masters at growing impossible dream plants.
Our guide is Australian-speaking Ross McKinnon, Director of Mt. Kootha Botanical Garden in Brisbane, Australia.
Please contact me at floridacolors@att.net if interested. I will forward to your snail mail addy the full package.

Kyle, thanks for the compliment. You are always welcome to Thailand. If you visit Chatuchak plant market in Bangkok, you will find a vast selection of tropical plants not only from Thailand but the world.
As far as I know, there is no such yellow in Thailand right now. The one that is almost a solid yellow is Sirimongkol Yellow.
Thanks, Kukiat! That is a beautiful yellow. Someday, we will find a pure solid one for Kyle. Kyle is an amazing gardener and hybridizer in his own right, and I think both you and he enjoy many of the same tropicals.
Hi Kukiat,
You should post more pictures on here! It is winter here and most of my plumieras are asleep. Your lovely photos help keep Summer alive for me!
Brad
Wow! Those are fantastic! Thanks for sharing them, Kukiat!
WOW! Those are absolutely stunning, Kukiat! Those Thornton seedlings are amazing aren't they? Your Texas Aggie has better coloration than many I have seen here. I am wondering if it might be a pod sibling of Mardis Gras because the colors are so similar. Mardis Gras is one of my all time favorite plumerias.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Brad
Merry Christmas to you too, Brad, and to Kukiat and everyone!
Brad, those pictures were taken about two months ago when the temperature was about 30C up.
Below picture is Marble Ice Cream, one of my favorite seedlings. I think this is Clare's favorite, too. The picture was taken four days ago when the temperature dropped from 30C during the day time to 15C at night.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone...
Wow, Kukiat! That is extraordinary indeed! That texture and veining is just out of this world!
WOW, Kukiat! I REALLY like that one! I am drooling on my keyboard! LOL
Brad
Sawadee Doc,
What can i say but just wonderful plumies as always doc..
Real winners for sure..
Happy Songkran or do you still celebrate it in April?
:)
Cool pic, Robert! Tell us about Songkran! I heard that there was a bombing in Thailand and that New Year's Celebrations were cancelled. I must find out where that is.
Sawadee and Happy New Year..Robert. Thanks for your compliment. It's so great to have you back again. Of course, Thai people still celebrate Songkran on April 13 every year.
Clare, this is a traditional Thai New Year. It is so-called Water Festival. Here are the links for more information.

As for the bombing in Thailand, we still do not know who did that. It was the first time ever take place in Bangkok. However, in my opinion, Bangkok is still a very safe place to live.
Ah, yes, I remember the water Festival! Thanks so much for the links, Kukiat! That is a terrible shame about the bombing, but I agree that Thailand is a very safe and wonderful place, and I hope to visit you soon.
Good links Doc thanks..
