My DD received as a gift from her boss a potted plant that is marked only "polyanthus jasmine". I have posted this at the vines and climbers forum but since it was sent here to TX from Chicago thought that I would post it here, also. Mainly, she needs to know if it can be planted outside in our zone, where, what kind of soil, will it freeze - just tops or whole plant - when it is supposed to bloom - just any info that would help her. Thanks in advance for your input.

polyanthus jasmine
Ann I have been looking and I can't find a Jasmine by that name, sorry.
Josephine.
It's listed as Jasminum Polyanthus or Pink Jasmine or Winter Jasmine. The plant files say it's hardy to 9A, it should be okay outside.
When I looked it upon DG it only mentioned z9 and 10 so didn't know if 8 would be ok. Thanks for your input!

I think we have this one solved. It is at best difficult and at the worst downright annoying when one of your kids or friends says "I have a so&so that is marked such&such and they give you no other info but expect me to go to y'all and relate what they told me. Gonna have to stop doing that for folks. So frustrating.Ann
