My Personal E-Mail Address

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Has been trashed because Internet robots and crawlers sucked it up so I get hundreds of spam and virus emails a day.

Please use dmail only, please do not use my personal email address period.

Never in this lifetime do I want "Forwards" or any other type of junk email. I can't tell you how frustrated I have become trying to deal with the assorted mess.

I hear ya Judy!!! I have changed mine several times for the same reason! Filters are not much help.. but they do help some.

I have a yahoo address and very seldom get any spam on it. My main email has a bounce feature that you can bounce mail back if you get something you don't want. Then who ever sent it thinks it was anvalid address and won't send again. If it does come again it automatically sends it to the delete folder where you can delete it. It is Incredimail if you are interested.

Judy, I know how frustrating it can be. I do agree with Georgiaredclay. Yahoo has an awsome spam filter. I have not had anymore problems since I downloaded the Yahoo tool bar.

My problem is that it is part of my website "email me" and that is where it is being picked up. My website gets an average of 800 visitors per day and although I have the above safeguards the Internet robots and address crawlers are unbelievable.

I need a program that will shoot them down as they crawl through the website. lol lol

I have had better luck with gmail than yahoo just my 10 cents worth

Filters don't do much for me when the sender uses an earlier date - it still shows up. I can't tell you how many spam emails are trying to sell me products for insecure males - if you know what I mean. One of the bad things about using initials in your email address - they don't know if you're a male or female. I suppose if they knew I was female they'd be trying to sell me weird female products. Geez!

LOL Mary. I think many of us get those weird e-mails and you wonder "WHY" LOL

Judy, remove your email address from your website and use a form mailer, but make sure it is one that spammer's can't take advantage of. I'll look around and see if I can find a secure one for you.

Here is another option for cleaning up e-mail.....www.mailwasher.com. This FREE program allows you to preview mail and "bounce" unwanted e-mail as if your e-mail address is invalid. It never goes to your mailbox unless you allow it therefore eliminating a lot of chances for getting those dreaded virus and worms.
After a couple bounces the sender's auto-generater will drop you from their files.
It has reduced my junk mail tremendously. God bless, Margo
