"Better Watch Out"

Silver Spring, MD

Optimara's comin' to town. I walked into Johnson's just as they were unpacking two boxes from Optimara. Can't believe this came out of the box.

I think it looks like Anika or Millenia. What do you think?

Nanna, that's really pretty and very healthy looking too. What type of a store is Johnson's? I haven't seen any a/v's in stores near me....but then again I avoid the stores like the plague :-)

Johnson's is an all-round nursery. They grow a lot of things themselves. This one is small. It's in Kensington MD. I stop there regularly to see what they have. Usually the AVs are really picked over. Today, I lucked out.

Actually I went back this evening and bought two more. They are just as pretty and healthy looking. I'll post pictures tomorrow. My camera is charging.

Super ! Can't wait to see your other two new plants !

Score!! Johnson's sounds like a fun place! :-)

Are your plantlets from our swap doing OK? After Maureen's had trouble adapting, I started worrying about the ones I gave to you & Keyring....

Yours are looking good, especially your "Lily" mini! 'Blue Boy' and S. tongwensis pouted a little (each lost 1 leaf), but seem to be happier now, and the leaves I put down are also doing fine. I cut away a lot of the sides as well as some of the top of the leaves of 'Frozen in Time' and 'Fisherman's Paradise' because they were so huge, but they look just fine... I have them on a covered cake stand, and I keep checking them for ears!

Everything is doing good. I just took the species from under the dome and it has relaxed a great deal. I think it might have been getting too much light. The others are still under the dome. I think humidity helps with the transition of enviroment. No tight or small centers.

I can't remember the name of the strep you gave me---the tall stemmed ones. All six are growing. I divided them and put 3 to a pot. Is the mom still blooming? I would love to see her picture. I thought you posted it but I can't find it.

What a fun day that was.

I will post the pictures of the other two "finds" later this morning. I'm just about to begin my exercises. I came on line while Maggie was outside.
