Hi, does anyone know where i can find a source for B. petasitifoilia or other thick stemmed begonias (plants or seed). Thanks for any suggestions.
Thick-stemmed Begonias
you're right. i love PHOE and with b'day approaching, i'm going to let myself indulge a little. I appreciate your suggestion.
Dale, 3 lovely begonias you have there. Did it come frm PHOE's?
Wish I lived in Fl.

Patootie, those are not my begonias and they are no longer alive. I took that photo last summer at a client's home. They changed their containers, they tossed those plants and you have no idea how disappointed I was when I found out. On the plus side, the plants were only 8 months old, so it is possible to grow some big plants in a season. As for living in FL--I wish I could afford to move out of here. It is always hot and humid here. I would love to move back to San Francisco, but, there is not much work there. Lots of work in booming FL.
Dale, such a shame about the begonia's. Some people can just toss lovely plants,
I can't. Each one was nice enough to make a specimen plant.
Guess I won't be moving to Fl anytime soon. We have enough heat and humidity to deal
with here.
Love your begonia's mixed in with other plants. Is that a Benitochiba sp? on the far left?
What's the begonia in the center with the vibrant lvs?

Jackie, the second photo is the same place as the first, it is in the back of the house. They were done by a container specialist. The left palnt is Benitochiba, they rest I do not know, but, see them often. I know the ferns tho! In our plant industry the names of the plants are not important to most growers. I go out to buy from growers that have no idea what the plant names are, other than rex or cane type. It is a nightmare to order from some places over the phone, I usually just go there are pick the plants I want.
Dale, Sounds like a great job for a plant lover to have.
