Good Morning to Sinningia Country Crocus

Silver Spring, MD

Look what was in my kitchen window this morning. The first bloom of my first sinningia. Check out the little dots in the throat of the blooms. This is so exciting!

Keyring!! Look what I found this morning when I was watering.... The first bloom opened on the tiny S. pusilla plant you gave me! It's such a pretty purple, and so dainty! I love it!!

That is wonderful, Jill. It looks very just as you described. I love the little home you have for her. She looks as snug as can be.

I checked the micro mini sinningia and it has two buds! I will post when it blooms.

Nanna, I love the speckles on 'Country Crocus' -- sweet name, too!

I can't get over this little bitty plant with that bloom... that plant is maybe 3/4 inch in diameter, perhaps a bit smaller, and the bloom is about 1/4 inch across.

The wine glass seems to work well for it. I've got pebbles and water in the base, and the top is covered almost all the way with a strip of Glad Press 'n Seal, which I took off for the photo.

Thanks for sharing this little sweatheart with me, Key!

Oh these teeny babies are sooooo cute! I have been thinking and debating about trying some of the mini's next spring! Now, I'm hooked! I love planting in glass containers and the mini's would be perfect .... want to do another terrarium too!

Thanks for posting your pholto's!
