Saw a community garden near the Smithsonian Institution the other day!!!!! Right there in the middle of DC. Was quite amazed. All govt. or museums there so wonder where the gardeners live. Maybe they are govt. workers in nearby buildings.

That's great to hear. Wouldn't it be nice if all vacant urban spaces(lots) became gardens?
Not sure if you were following this thread. A community garden in SoCal has had its lot sold. They are now looking for another space for their garden. The irony is that the lot was sold shortly after the community garden was awarded by the city.
