I have a 125 W white heat lamp in a dome reflector mounted about 4.5 foot over the bench. I've have not put any sensitive plants under it,
but Chives as well as some small tomato plants are thriving.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Is there any reason I should not use this lamp?
Infrared Heat Lamp?
It'll certainly give you enough light but just watch out for the heat it may give off. At four and a half feet there may not be much heat on your plants but at that range it makes me wonder about how strong the light rays will be.
You might want to stick your hand below the light, feeling for heat. If you feel too much heat on your hand then make sure the plants are below that distance.
Let us know how you make out!
Shoe.
