I kept meaning to order bulbs, but I knew it would take hours as I dithered over which varieties of tulips to choose for my tiny yard. I seem to have solved that problem by now beihng unable to buy any bulbs at all for next spring. No, I did manage to pick up some squill on sale at the hardware store.
Other than going over to Home Depot and Lowe's is there any hope for me? Anybody near DC have extras they'd like to sell me? I was hoping to add some crocuses, snowdrops, narcissi, grape hyacinths, English bluebells and, of course, tulips.

spring bulb procrastination: can I still buy them anywhere?
I saw some in stores yesterday, they're still around
You can get some really good deals if your local Lowes or HD have any bulbs left. Be sure to squeeze the bulbs in the packages, as I found some that were over-dried out, but lots were fine. There are some reputable sellers on Ebay with a pretty good selection left too. The seller known as rarebulbs has most of what you're looking for, and I was very pleased with the bulbs I got from them last year. Great prices on snow crocus and species tulips too.
I think Wooden Shoe still has them - I ordered from them late last year and got my bulbs within 3 or 4 days from ordering and they were in great condition...

Ruth,
Touch of Nature has many Spring bulbs listed under "Specials"....then click on "Fall2006". They have many pretty tulips, some daffs, and they have crocus at 50 for $5.00. I have ordered many times from them and their bulbs are nice and they get my order to me within days. (Edited the second time to add the following: You can also click on the sidebar on the left of the page and click on "Bulbs and Perennials" and they have several varieties to choose from...not as good of pricing as on the "specials", but still nice pricing. They have a message on their front page that says you can order until Dec. 31, 2006...but if you order, I would get it in as soon as possible to assure your bulb delivery for now.)

Thanks for the good tips. I ended up getting almost everything I wanted via ebay, Touch of Nature, Terra Ceia, and Johnny's Selected Seeds. Wooden Shoe seemed a little expensive.
I discovered that if you look up something in Plant Files, it tells you which vendors have it! That saved me from total frustration on a couple of items.

Glad to know I'm not the only one still trying to plant out bulbs in the middle of December! I got 1,000 or so in the ground by thanks giving, but still have more to go... is there any hope for us?!
Buggycrazzy is still selling and shipping, though they are sold out of many things.

That is the Daffs, page 1 or 4
I found 15 different things I needed, and just received them. The few I've looked at so far look nice, shipping was quite reasonable (and was just about the actual cost to ship), and they have a pretty good rating at Watchdog.
Sue...off to make labels and plant
