Just in time for the new year....

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

this is sugarloaf pineapple.I got these as pups from a good friend.Have had this one growing a little over a year now.The flower started out a pretty pink/rose color then turned green. Its going to be a large one judging from the growth rate. I love pineapple..especially plant ripened ones. :-)

Kyle...is this your first fruit? You will be overwhelmed by it...I promise you!!! Pick it when it is fragrant, when there is a red blush to the skin and the fruit is not 'stone hard' but had some give to it.

How fun Kyle! Good for you. Fresh pineapple is a real treat (from what I've read). It's on my list to try growing one someday.
