Separate before planting?

Dallas, GA(Zone 7b)

Hi all -- some of the bulbs I just got from B & B have "pups" (is that what they're called)? Should I separate them before planting or leave them connected to mama? thanks in advance.

what kind of bulbs are they?

oops sorry. Daffs (Narcissus) and Dutch Iris seem to be the ones with pups.

Just plant the dutch iris In your zone they will probably proliferate in the ground, and those pups will be regular bulbs by next summer.

Don't separate the daughter-bulbs, they are still reliant, to a degree, on the mother bulb. They separate themselves when they need to.
B&B's specialty is Narcissus, having hybridized some of their own, and supply the best around.
Enjoy those blooms next spring now!

What Kenton said. I got some Hawera daffs and Mariposa lilies from their online sale. They do seem to be about the best for most bulbs.
