hello robin,
I can share some thyme, chives and garlic chives with you come spring.
I may have French sorrel too, but am not sure how it fairs the winter.
They are perennials for me and do very well, just find them a sunny location.

Just a suggestion, try seeds. You should have no problem starting dill, parsely,
coriander and basil from seeds and have fresh herbs mid-summer. Parsley is
a biennial so you can get it come up really early next year. For winter I'd mulch
heavily though. If you like portulaca (great omega-3 source for vegans and non-vegans
alike), it's an easy one to grow too. It self-sows easily, but is very easy to remove
where not needed and mulching take care of this problem.

Let's get in touch late April and see what we can trade :)

Portulaca is not really a herb as it does not have strong aroma.
Usually it is thought of as a weed, and I get lots of it in my herb corner
which is a sunny well drained spot. So I let some grow and use it in
cooking.

There are many ways to use it. I add it to salads or marinade it and serve
with veggies in the summer. You can add it to mashed potato, letting the
heat of the cooked potato soften it without destroying the beneficial components.
I like it, but then I like to eat plain papay and pomgranet seeds:)
