Thanks, Valary. One more time I agree with you LOL

The common name means 'old woman's mouth' LOL, since it looks like a toothless mouth.

Hugs,

Ursula

Beautiful!

Thanks, Dyson.

Unfortunately, it is neither found very often in the wild nor does it form colonies.

Ursula,
Your photographs of Calceolaria are beautiful.
We are colder and wetter than you are here in Oregon but I can grow Calceolaria mexicana as an annual, Calceolaria fiebrigiana as a perennial as well as Calceolaria alba as a shrub.
They bloom beautifully.

I would like to grow more kinds but they often rot in the wintertime.
Thanks for sharing your photos.

Hello FT!

Thanks for your kind words.

There are at least 3 of our Calceolaria species that should do well in your area, since they are all native to The Andes mountains where people are still skiing down here (it's spring down here): C. arachnoidea, C. biflora and C. corymbosa. The area where they grow is more or less an equivalent to a USA zone 6b.

Hope this information helps.

Ursula
