Gee, X, It looks like it's lonely at the top! :)

Hopefully there will be some west coasters on later tonight and you'll not be the only one who got her mail in 2 days.

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

I received both envelopes today from claypa. He sent me 'some kind of allium' LOL, seriously, I am excited about trying this and nictonania(sp) I am back here and HE didn't spell it wrong, I am memory challenged.

So the test for +4 didn't make any difference in my case.

Huh. I think it's Allium sphaerocephalon ( that means 'ball-head'!)...not exactly sure, because it had gone by before I collected the seed. The other's Nicotiana, it smells great on summer nights. It's related to tobacco, but smells a LOT better. They were a couple colors, probably pale yellow and white, maybe lavender. I wish I'd written it down now! No good mail today, but no bills either.
I won't tell our postmaster, he might get cocky and start slacking off,LOL!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Received both of mine today from frausnow in GA . They were in regular envies with .39 postage. I don't know whether that would make a difference or not.

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

My envelope without the "four" came today.

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

Both of my envelopes came today! And thanks Janet, for the seeds, they are lovely!
Lea

Albany, OR(Zone 8a)

Got both envelopes today too. From GuardianGirl. There was lots of different packages of seeds in them. Thanks.

So far it seems the +4 doesn't make all that much a difference. I'm kind of disappointed! I'm beginning to think mine was a fluke.

Think it might work better if there wasn't the Christmas rush? I'm sure the PO is rushing like crazy right now, might be a better test without the Christmas rush. When I worked in a warehouse for Sprint we bypassed a lot of rules just to get the phones out for Christmas. Maybe we can try this again later and get totally different results.

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

And even some more seeds! LOL...I haven't been able to open mine yet...they came yesterday, but I haven't been home to get to them...I imagine the other may come today...can't wait to see!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

This is really interesting! I try to include the +4 whenever possible - can't hurt and might help. I read an interesting thread at another site, and one person said this:

My partner is a carrier and used to be a postal clerk. He's sitting
right here, and he disagrees with the idea that the "+4" makes a
difference for Media Mail.

All packages get an almost-square, five-digit barcode sticker
attached -- it looks almost like a UPC barcode from the grocery
store. There are no nine-digit stickers. So all packages get sorted
by five-digit zip code, get thrown into bins, get trucked to the
station of that zip code, then sorted manually at the destination
station. There's really no point at which the "+4" can improve
delivery time for packages.

The "+4" does improve delivery of "automation-compatible" letters and
"flats" (which are just magazines and large envelopes to you & me).

No seeds today, but another DG'er sent a styrofoam cooler full of Holly cuttings for propagation - very sweeeet!

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Good to know...hmm...it saves me from looking up the "extra" four anyway!! LOL

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Both mailers from Susan51 arrived today, one with 5 digit zip, one with the +4 digit, but it was incorrect. They didn't send it back, so I wonder if the extra 4 numbers meant anything to them at all.

Columbia Heights, MN(Zone 4a)

I received both envelopes from Sunnydove today.

Milo, ME(Zone 4a)

Hello all on the zipcode-package -I got both of mine 1:15 pm today from jen -in Hawii thank-you Jen

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Still haven't received the Plus four package...wierd yes...

West Pottsgrove, PA(Zone 6b)

Both of 9kittymom's envelopes arrived in today's mail. Nice! Susan managed to find exact postage with stamps, something I usually can't come up with. I had them put the postage sticker on the ones I sent. Also, the stamps aren't cancelled.
Mike

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

Cool! .. i get uncancelled stamps a lot when trading for seeds.

Hillsborough , NC(Zone 7a)

BOTH my packages came today (Saturday) , in my case +4 makes no diference. Thanks Robin!

Lytle (near San Anto, TX(Zone 8b)

Judy

Just so you all know, if you want to try to reuse the uncancelled stamps, you can remove them easily and restick them. There is a product out there that scrapbookers use. It's called UNDO and is in a small little bottle and has this plastic spoon-like thing attached. All you do is open the lid and holding it sideways, drop a drip or two onto the little "spoon" and let the liquid flow onto the edge of your stamp, sticker whatever and push it up with the spoon. You can usually restick it, but can always use a little glue to restick it. It leaves no residue once dry. You can purchase the UNDO at anyplace that sells scrapbooking supplies (scrapbook stores, Hobby Lobby, Michael's, etc). You'll find it in the glue section. This is great for taking off all those sticky barcode labels of stuff too. Hope this helps.

Wow, Makshi... I can't believe those haven't arrived yet. I mailed them from our local UPS store, their mail pickup is at 4:00 pm... but I've sent out lots of things from there and it hasn't been that slow in the past (I mail lots of things to my parents in N.Y. state from there). Hmmm... keep me posted.

Well mine finally arrived yesterday at 4:00pm. I can't believe they took so long.

Mint Hill, NC(Zone 7a)

Wow I mailed things to Nevada the other day(after the 4th) and they were received Saturday so may have taken 3 days to get the person but SBoyken and I live closer and still nothing for her she said mine was returned undeliverable weird everything was correct.

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

This was an interesting experiment! I guess the conclusion is that zip +4 doesn't make all that much difference. I was expecting different results than what we got! Perhaps we can try again when the Christmas Rush isn't on.

Thanks to everyone that participated!

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

Oh, Janet I hope your envelope didn't get lost......You should have had it by now! So strange...I had an envelope get lost a few weeks ago, it was gone so long that I had dmailed the person and they sent another envelope, I got that one then I got the first one she sent out, how strange is that? Go figure lol
