I bought rooting tubes and stand from Luc and Carol (Florida Colors) at the Spring Plumeria sale. I got nervous about my cuttings not rooting that we brought back from Hawaii (because it was getting cool here) and I put them in a Hydro Propagation container with bottom heat. I found these a few weeks ago. The first one had loads of roots but I potted it up before thinking of taking pictures.

Can you explain the rooting tubes to me. That looks neat but I don't understand the process.
Jeri,
Here is the post and picture of the rooting tubes and trays. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/625346/
It on page nine of this forum. Mixed feelings in the results but It worked well for me setting in the sun before it turned cold. I worried I would loose all my cuttings so I decided to try a hydroponic set up. All it is, is a Sterlite sweater box from Wal-Mart. It has round holes that are cut into the top and you fill it with distilled water and hook up an air stone into the water. I set that on a Propagation mat and several have rooted.

This is neat I did not know you could use water to root Plumeiras. Sure worked well for you !
cool i thought they would rot
VT, sometimes they do! It just depends on the cutting, the water temperature, the season, etc. It is important that the tree that the cuttings are taken from be in growth mode, and usually, a warm season is the best time to do it. Hard wood tends to root better in water than green wood.
