Jean Pasco is one of those brugs that just captures my heart. She is a great bloomer and I just love how the darker orange rim contrasts with the yellow body of the corolla. This is one of the first brugs i acquired. She is very hardy (she even survived hurricane wilma). I have discussed in other threads how everybody needs one oldie in their collection...This is mine.

Jean Pasco- My favorite Oldie but Goodie
Beautiful color! It's so fun to see pics of blooms when it's frosty cold outside and there are nothing but sticks out there. :) Thank you for the smiles.
I aim to please...LOL!!!!
Absolutely gorgeous !!
So many people, especially newbies see the newer brugs and right away that's what they want. The fact of the matter the newer brugs can be fussy and will sometimes require a lot more experience to grow. A lot of time and money is wasted. There are several oldie but goodies that are out there that are VERY easy to grow. Jean Pasco Is one of those. The colors on her are vibrant and clear. She is a real two toned beauty. If you are new to brugs and want a real winner that's easy to grow you should try your hand with Jean Pasco....and she smells great too!
She takes a few days to open up..in these pictures she is only 2 days old....hasn't fully opened her flowers yet

I have 2 very healthy rooted cuttings of Jean Pasko. I loved the color when I first saw it. Some other "oldies" that this "newbie" have are Dr. Suess, Charles Grimaldi and Isabella. And, then of course, I have bunches of new ones too. :)

Those are great choices to start with!! Good luck with your JP cuttings!!
I agree. The first 'Jean Pasko' came to Denmark in 2002 and bloomed for the first time in 2004. I grew a lot of american hybrids in these years and 'Jean Pasko' was one of the best. It still beat many european hybrids of the same colors. I bet it will still be around together with 'Isabella', 'Frosty Pink' and 'Ecuador Pink', when all the newer hybrids are long gone.
Beautiful bloom! Sure hope mine blooms next year ;-)
Gary you can make any Brug look beautiful! Jean Pasco is one I don't have but I feel the same way about my CG and GQ! They bloom in mass and smell soooo good!!
Gary,
The Jean Pasko is beautiful! I have a couple of cuttings too, that I am rooting. I may have made a mistake with them though and they may not root now. But that is another subject....I really wanted to ask what the other brug is in the first picture?
Carol
Carol,
That's Painted Lady!!
That one is beautiful too!
Caren GQ (Golden Queen) is one that I lost this summer while I was away. I think snails rang the dinner bell and poof! She was gone, I don't mean damaged, I mean I came home to an empty pot!
I have heard good things about her, but I really don't need another brug. I hear GQ is also an old brug that sort of recently got rediscovered. You'll have to post some pictures so that we can see what she is like.
Gary GQ is Gypsy Queen. I don't think I have heard of golden queen maybe the same? I took a few just fooling around with my new digi none of them were good enough to keep. Here it is in plant files tho.

Caren
Golden Queen and Gypsy Queen are two different brugs....Golden Queen is also Known as Goldeness Kornett...it's an old brug

Wow, now those are beautiful brugs. I just started some cuttings and they are doing well. Mine are whites and yellows... nothing so colorful as those. If these do well here this coming year, I will be on the lookout for some of these more colorful ones ... they are fantastic. I have both my yard and my mothers to use for new plants....twice the fun! LOL
