Newbee Cajun in SoCal...diggin' DG!

Ramona, CA(Zone 9b)

Hello everyone. I recently joined DG and immediately got hooked! I responded to a forum and received a warm welcome. Someone there tipped me off to the Welcome Mat. (Not sure how to suggest that the DG Admin's send an auto reply to newbee's suggesting they might start here. Maybe they did and I missed it...)

Anyway, I'm a fairly new gardener, but I have the BUG. There is a wealth of information here on DG and I can't wait. It is so nice that folks are willing to share.

Luckily, my zone allows me to be outside year round. It probably wouldn't matter, I'd be gardening indoors otherwise.

See ya'round...

glad i'm the first to welcome you to daves garden. therte is no place like this anywhere. everyone is very helpful and we all have a godo time. don't forget to visit all the other forums. we are currently having a christmas cookie contest on the recipe forum. no prizes just a bunch of "way to go" all year gardening sounds wonderful right now especially when its about 20 degrees outside in upstate new york.

Thanks for the welcome AND the great tips Herbie. I'm still learning to use the site and I'm amazed at how many different things are available. I'm off to visit the cookie contest...

Thanks again,

Hi Tleaves,

A late welcome to DG. I've been a member since August and just found this forum. What part of La. are you from. I live outside Baton Rouge. My DH and I will be in San Diego on Feb. 18 to catch a cruise ship to Hawaii.

I'm from Houma, although I also lived in Lafayette and Baton Rouge for awhile. I'm a little familiar with Greenwell Springs. I went through there once or twice many years ago. A cruise to Hawaii should be really nice this time of year. :)
