Wow! Awesome color! In water? That's wild.. congratulations, it's beautiful.
Cool pattern on the bell. I wonder if it will bloom that way in the summer.
Congrats Joan!!
Thanks, I do not think I can stand it until spring.
very unusual markings. Very nice. :-)
Too cool, Joan! A brug picotee. LOL I will sure be hoping it holds thru summer. The orange color is great on its own too!
Kell, I need your help to see if you can tell me who the parenst are. Out of the 150 or so seedling I have grown I have lost 3 names and it is driving me crazy. If you or any one else has a guess about this seedling please tell me. I always come to you when I panic. Thank you, Joan
Love the color and markings!! Congratulations :-)
Sharon
Gee Joan, it is impossible to tell. Do you have the possible candidate crosses? That could be easier to pick from depending on the possible crosses. I am looking at picture #2. It is a hybrid. By the very short tendrils it seems to have some suav in it. Are the anthers glued too? But by the lower calyx, the shape and the way it is pendulous makes me think it has some aurea in it. But what do I know. LOL.
But really since it is a winter bloom and on a cutting all things may change by next summer except perhaps the tendril length and the number of splits the calyx has. Those I have noticed seem to stay pretty much the same. On some of mine, esp the hybrids with some versicolor, I see the calyx can go higher in winter showing more neck but drop in summer. Also it may become more nodding when on a rooted tree.
Thank you Kell, I am going to copy this and put it with my records of that time period. When they all bloom in the spring I will take more picture and see if we can credit to the right person. Thanks again, Joan
Beautiful bloom, Joan
Thank you, Joan
