Ordered Mantis Tiller Today!!

Drumheller, Canada(Zone 3b)

Well since I got all the seeds in the exchange I decided it was time to buy ME something. So today I ordered my Tiller..I have done a lot of reshearch and I think it will be good..At least this way I don't have to wait for Hubby to do things for me..
I have to laugh I never thought I would be so excited about a tiller..Oh well us gardeners get excited about strange things.

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

I love mine and have wrecked it 6 times. (all under warranty) They are wonderful for many uses but do NOT use them around any rocky ground. The rocks get stuck up in the upper part of the tiller and hard to get out. But you will love them in previously tilled ground.

Before gardening got me, if someone had suggested a truckload of composted cow manure would be a big thrill, I'd never have believed it...

Mantis!!! Mine is a BIG WOW. They also stand behind their products firmly.
I also use mine in rocky ground "very carefully" and each time I shut down, I pull the tines and clean it throughly. It take about 3 minutes. I have never had a problem starting it and tomorrow I am going to test that in a [for] real situation. I will find out just how easy it is to start after setting in the cold for about a week.
I started my snowblower several times during the spring-summer-fall seasons and I will do the same to my Mantis and my riding mower. I go riding during the cold on the mower. I'm just a little lazy to change out good oil and drain good gasoline just because it is winter.
Of course, I am not riding for too long of a distance because my coonass blood doesn't like cold weather.
Thanks for reading.

LOL at LostIndian :-) My blood doesn't particularly like cold weather either.

Congratulations on your new toy kinnika! I've been tempted by the mantis tiller a time or two myself. You'll have to let us know how it works out for you.

2zeus LOL I had that thrill last spring and my new neighbour still thinks I am crazy.(But he didn't say NO to fresh tomatoes ) LostIndian, I have this visual of myself outside right now at -31C with 2 feet of snow on the ground riding the lawn mower (Not a pretty picture, my neighbour would really have me committed ) My son thinks I am crazy as he is of the belief that his mother should not be doing such things ( Boy has he got some lessons coming) I will be sure to let you know how it works out for me as I just can't handle the down on my knees weed picking any more and I WILL NOT give up my big garden.
Have a super great day everyone.

Congrats Dianne!!! Ü Wonderful gift re: Mantis and 2zeus re composted manure I too agree (I believe I've asked for that *gift* once or twice).

OK Pam does that mean that you have asked for manure for christmas? What a wonderful wife you must be. I have brought truckload after truckload of manure and my wife has to my recollection never acknoledged it. I'll just point out the window and say Merry christmas! Good idea.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

LOLOLOLOLOL I do believe it was a truckload for my birthday (and I requested it;). Y'all will be pushing your luck if your wife didn't (I'll come to the funeral).

My wife would never kill me. I'm too valuable to keep the garden growing. Anyway she is used to such Christmas presents in jest. We are taking each other skiing to celebrate our Christmas this year. Any way we always buy our christmas presents in the summer. This is only a few of the compost makers.
