My Fiirst Seed Pod for 2007!!

Fort Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10b)

I have had my eye on this guy for weeks now. Watching for signs of growth. I wanted to make sure that i wasn't getting excited for nothing. Sometimes just when you think you did something good, it drops off. He has tripled in size in he last week so i feel confident to say...I HAVE A POD!!!

The cross is Flirtation x Double Peach! (Flirtation is a PB x EP cross)

Yeah! I hope this means that my crosses will begin to take for the season. I have had no luck up till now.
Maybe 2007 will be a good year for me and my brugs.

I wish I could say some of my crosses took but the bees have been working overtime since the weather has gotten cooler. All my pamperd babys are with out pods but the 2 unnamed whites are loaded. All I can say is WHY??? :(

Kell after this last flush of flowers i now have 14 pods on various plants. All of them are planned crosses. This year will be a good year for seeds. I guess i will have to have some contests here on DG and give some of them away!!
Kell, i read an earlier post on how you were successful in getting a pod on Dorthea. I also have a pod on Dorthea. It's Dorthea x Creamsickle....Dorthea is so stingy with her pods I'm told this is quite an accomplishment.Yeah!! Several of Ludgers little Monkeys have taken on some creamsickle as well..this year i want orange to be the color of my double crosses.....but will mother nature cooperate? That's the big question.......

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I sure hope you succeed in getting some great double yellow/orange ones Gary. Creamsickle makes nice doubles. Double Pinks will be coming out of the woodwork next summer. I still want a perfect single pink!

I can't remember which cross that took for the pod on Dorthea, I will have to check when I go out here. I will say Dorthea is STILL blooming. She is a foot tall and is a beautiful mini plant. I am so happy with that one. She dropped a bunch of flowers I had pollinated! I tried the last flush with Rubirosa thinking she may like a relative more. LOL. I hope I do not get ones that look like too much like EP from doing that. I sound like they took, LOL! I am forever hopeful. She is just picky pretty PINK lady!

I think I have a few cuttings of Ludger's monkeys. I got a nice box of new brugs in a few weeks ago and need to learn the names. I try not to get too attached till they root well. It is such fun to see new kinds bloom!
