I love, love, love this red colored Schlum. 'Carmen' is her name. I think she is the last one I have blooming now.
December Cheer!
She's a fiery beauty! Suits her name :)
Very nice! I love Shlums! Mine are done blooming now...
Tom
Sue, that is so true. Screaming red=Carmen. LOL Thank you both for the compliments. I never tire of photographing my Holiday Cacti. They are photo worthy. LOL
GH
GH WOW Carmen is a beauty! Oh I WANT!!! : )
Nancy
Very, very pretty! This year, for the first time in MY LIFE, my Christmas cactus is going to bloom all on it's own. I got it in a houseplant trade and I don't know what color it is. Waiting...............
LOL, Nancy, you WILL GET in the Spring. LOL I'm thinking of giving Carmen a last name, just for me of course. Can anyone guess what it would be? LOL Jones!!! Carmen Jones!!!! Did anyone see that movie?:)
NN, maybe I should trek on over to Aroids to see what Anthuriums you have blooming now? :) On my way...
GH
Oh Thats right GH.I am one lucky lady!! OK Now you made me put that movie on my want to see list.I went to a movie database to check it out and my heavens the skirt she was wearing in the photo matched the color of your "Carmen" LOL Thats a fitting name for her GH!!
Seeeeeee..... I told ya! LOL
My Christmas cactus shows up this time of the year. This is the third year in a row. It makes me so happy when it blooms!
I'm so glad yours are doing well!! Mine can't seem to take off. My mom gave me some cuttings last year and I think I've killed all but a few.
Do they do well indoors?
David
I have to bring them inside before the frost or they will be as dead as a door nail! Mine still has a few small blooms.
One of our local Home Depot's has Christmas Cactus on sale .... small pots, probably 6" for $1.00 And larger pots for $2.00 and $4.00 and some that were originally $24.99 for $10.00 .... great buys if anyone is looking for more of these beauties. None were blooming, but some had buds and they all looked very healthy!
Lin
Holiday Cacti do remarkably well indoors in the right light. They need bright indirect light. A few hours of sun from an eastern or western exposure will do them well.
I broke down and bought another 'gold charm' over the weekend. Just when I'd told myself that I did not need anymore HC. I really couldn't help myself. I saw this beautiful golden yellow, tinged with pink, bloom jutting out at me. I said to myself, "Self, you have a gold charm already. BUT your gold charm doesn't have pink tinged petals. You s hould get this, could be a sport of some sort.". Yeah, right. LOL
