To Bee or Not To Bee

Headland, AL(Zone 8a)

Got a new camera for an early Christmas present. It is supposed to freeze tonight, so DH gave it to me early so I could get some good pics of my flowers before they are gone. I caught this bee enjoying my brugs...

And here is a pic of the whole plant. It started out with shredded blooms, now they are all normal, so I guess it was just the stress of the drought and the heat. Now it is happy as a clam. Too bad it is getting cold tonight.

Yesterday and today I had bees all over my brugs blooms. I bet they did some of their own pollinating.

Your brug is loving the cooler weather.

Thanks! It ws on sale for $149 and takes GREAT pics...and fast, too, as you can tell. You can also take mpegs with it.

After I persuaded DH to give me the camera today, I found out the cold weather isn't supposed to hit till tomorrow night. OOpppsss! My bad! LOL! So, now he is feelign bad and is going to have to go out and get me another Christmas present so I'll ahve somehting to open for Christmas. Hmmm...didn't my mom used to do something similar to my dad????? ACK! I've become my mother! NOT!

Seriosuly, I do hope the cold snap tomorrow doesn't do too much damage, I have got one seed pod on the brug as it is....it would be nice if Mr. Bee had visited somebody's fancy brug before visiting my little white one...LOL!

Great pictures! Your husband sounds so nice. Funny, I never have seen a bee in one of my brugs.

I've just started seeing them the last few days. Probably because most of the flowers around here that they prefer are bloomed out. I mean I've still got a lot of stuff blooming...till the cold snap gets here...but most of it is not stuff that draws bees.

Unfortuantely, it is supposed to get down to 26 or so tonight, so I'll be dragging what I can into the shed or placing it against the south wall of the house and covering it. Then I'll be coverign the stuff out in the yard taht is too tender for a cold snap like this. I guess the weather service ws right about it being an unsually cold and wet winter...we don't usually get this cold for at least a month...but at least it only lasts a day or two. My MIL's daughter still has no power up in Illinois. MIL lives in an apartment for seniors not too far from her daughter, but because it is a complex for elderly people they were high priority to get her grid back on right away.
