Even though I don't currently have a horse, I follow the forum to keep abreast of things. I live in a city and most of the riding areas have gone except for a small horse community not too far from me. My next door neighbor just got a horse on a lease/option and inviting me to come see him. I gave up my horse when my son was born 18 years ago and have kept away from them physically but it was so emotionally painful (Not that I could have given up my son ((even though I threaten him from time to time. LOL))). I always held out hope that some day when he is through college and on his own that I would get another one. Even though he is only half way through his first year of college, todays visit has reaffirmed my decision to find another horse to share my life with when my son leaves home as I will be on my own then. In the meantime, I may see if I can located someone willing to lease thier horse on a part time basis or share expenses. I can't fully support a horse right now due to upcoming college expenses. I just can't explain the feeling I got though when I got to pet and hug a horse again. It was like coming home after being away a long time.
