One more from the island

Edited to say. There is a black coral reef that surrounds the island. The rocks are very sharp and slippery.

The plants did well. Two days before we came home the heat turned off. There was a little mildew on one plant but that was all.

This is Silver Cypress. The blooms are quite large

This is the surprise that I received when I got home. Ramblin Spots changed colors on me. It was pink with purple spots when I left. I returned to find some purple blooms.

Wow...I would've loved to see those Mayan ruins! Welcome back! ; )

Happy Belated Birthday! What Beautiful Photo's .... the one of the beach reminds me of the water in the Bahama's!

Is that Silver Cypress an AV??!! It looks so huge! I am a novice at the different ID's of the AV's .... I have 8 or so and none of mine are named ... Noids! (I just learned what noid stands for since joining DG two months ago)! I have been gardening and growing many different kinds of houseplants for almost 40 years, and always threw away the labels that came with any plants. Since joining I am now ID'ing (with a lot of help from DG'ers) and labeling all of my plants. A time consuming project, but fun in the process!

Thanks again for posting your Cruise Photo's .... I would love to visit those Mayan Ruins! Maybe someday! My husband has tried to get me to go on a cruise once or twice, but I can't imagine being out in the Ocean even on a Huge Ship! We have a 24' boat and I will go in the Intracoastal Waterway, but not in the Ocean .... mu husband has taken our little boat from Florida to the Bahamas with my Brother In Law and another friend, and my Sister, Nephew and friends wife and I flew over and met them. We rented a house for a week and had a great time. It was nice having the boat to visit a lot of the other Islands .... made me a bit nervous out in open water, but it is gorgeous over there .... bluegreen waters and really beautiful beaches! My husband and our Friend are Avid Scuba Divers and My BIL & Nephew are Avid Fishermen .... the ladies .... we just like to shop and enjoy the beach!

I have been on a cruise to Cozumel! We didn't get to see the ruins cause a few hurricanes had the island in disarray. Our guides took us to a beach and served a buffet for us. First and best taquitos I have ever had. Glad you had a good time.

Glad you enjoyed the pictures. I understand that the water is bluer in the Bahamas. At first I was reluctant to go on the ocean but Bill's excitment inspired me. I wore a patch for motion sickness and that helped quite a bit. I had withdrawal when I removed the patch. I'm still having trouble with my inner ear. It should pass soon.

The Silver Cypress is an AV, Plantladylin. The blooms are about two or more inches across--at least three fingers, almost four. The buds have a green tint to them and the full bloom opens to a white with a pinkish yellow glow.

The mayan ruins on the island are quite small. The large pyramid ruins are on the mainland. I would really love to see them some day. I'm very happy with my personal ruin. He's the best!
