Is that Z. oficionale? That's a pretty big clump, if I don't say so myself. Of course, when I was stationed in Japan (Lots of wet weather with sandy, well-drained volcanic soils), the entire back yard of the house me and my friends were renting was completely overrun by ginger. My friend's called the back yard "the Jungle" and didn't know what the plants were until I told them, LOL!
