Should i know plant in good dirt Judy or leave in bubbler? some have good good roots and leaves on.love this way working for me finally.
roots good and leaves so do I?
I thought you would have better luck with those big hardwood cuttings. Oh gosh that's a hard one to answer, you can do it either way. I haven't potted any up because I just don't have the room, but if I did, I would pot up at least half of them. The main thing is to keep them were the temperature is between 40-50 so the insects don't get a running start.
Would some of you brug growers post your opinion, please.
Everyone have a wonderful day!!!
Judy
ok think wait while longer than. see in couple weeks. thnaks.
I think they are probably much easier to take care of in water, but it's what you are most comfortable with that will work best for you. I'm just glad they are rooting for you. I do have some 5 footers, rooted, in a bucket of water and they will have to stay there all winter. My best luck is to not use water for cuttings at all and go straight to soil. Lots of luck to you and your cuttings.
Shirley thanks will leave them bit more getting leaves to.... wow 5ft's mercy thats some good sized ones..
Hi all ..this is a question I was asking around about today too...I have lost some beautiful cuttings recently to having them in water...Im hoping somebody has some ideas...I think I need to try soil but what kind to use during the winter time..I did buy some Sta-Green tropical and house plant soil today but not sure if I should try it....any thoughts?.....Judy
Judy,
I use a mixture of 1 part Peat Moss, 1 part Vermiculite, 2 parts Perlite to root just about any type of cutting. I posted this mix on another brug forum and the person who tried this reported very good success. Hope this helps you and anyone else who needs the advice.
David
Thanks David...I will check to see if I have this around the house to mix up.....Judy
