What a thrill. Spectacular to see. Got only one shot and here it is.
Bald Eagle Flyover
gardenpom
WOW That’s a great PIC.
Always happens when you don`t have you`r camera.
But you were lucky.
Incredible!
Thanks. I'm still on cloud 9!
Well done! Great shot
gardenpom Each year we go up to Eagle Days at Squaw Creek National Wildlife refuge (Mound City, Missouri) to take in all the wildlife there. We went last weekend to the annual event. About 155 eagles(bald) were currently in the area staying with the migrating geese and other waterfowl using the area. Nothing more enjoyable to see than these wonderful birds of prey. I liked your great eagle picture you were able to get as it flew overhead.
Cuckoo
This was my first time to see an Eagle, certainly never expected to see one fly over my house....I just happened to be sitting out back taking pictures of birds at the feeders and looked up at the right time. It must be a sight to see more than one at a time!
That's so awesome! What a thrill that must have been to have the camera when the fly-by occurred!
gardenpom, there is a huge bald eagle nest on Merrit Island. Its about the size of volkswagon beetle. You probably could see a couple eagles at a time, if you visit it at the right time.
I have never had the pleasure...great shot.
So you haven`t been luckey again gardenpom ??
Oh well, Keep your eyes Up.
No, haven't spotted him again. There are some Hawks around now though.
Where`s your camera ??
Yes, I bet you would have loved to have gotten closer on that. You can see the white head pretty clearly.
A couple years ago they nested in a city park and you could watch them from the bottom of the tree.
gardenpom - Come on up and visit the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge... drive Blackpoint Wildlife drive and visit the Fish and Wildlife visitor's center. You'll probably see some Bald Eagles and at the very least have plenty of wildlife to take pics of. I work at the Kennedy Space Center and see Bald Eagles all the time... they are my most favorite bird and it makes my day a whole lot brighter when I see one!
I bet it does! Maybe I will check it out sometime. Thanks.
Thank you for showing that Pic. here.

I think we should keep posting in our original thread as well.
I am still posting in both threads.
Yes, the word "majestic" fits them perfectly!
Congratulations gardenpom;,,
I remember the first time I saw an eagle out in the wild.....I was just awe struck.... Now I have them out where I live, and still get overcome with eagle fever when they land in the backyard......
It doesn't take much to get the "EagleBug" after getting your first picture, and an inflight shot to boot!!
Congrats again,,,,You did good;,,

Great picture of the Kite!!!
Very nice, very similar to the Eagle shot.
Just had an Eagle land in my back yard. The horses and the goose took off running, couldn't figure out why still I saw him in the tree. And guess what, I couldn't find the camera. He'll be back again one day, cause when he left he took a chicken with him. ; )
omg he took a chicken???
yep he did and I said have a nice lunch. It was worth losing one to see him swoop down and grab it. The poor chicken was dwarfed by him. He looked as big as my goose almost. Next time I'll just make sure it's one of my extra rooster he gets, not a layer. I've had hawks, coons, coyotes and a pair of hoot owls take chickens and it really burns me up, but this was a treat.
