C. Red Velvet

I got this one as C.Red Velvet..When the stems first comes out, They are red and feels like soft velvet..as the stems get older,they turned brownish color...

I couldn't find a reference to Colocasia 'Red Velvet' with a google search and the leaf doesn't look like a Colocasia to me (but it hard to see the leaf in the pic).

This is not a colocasia but a Homalomena rubescens I believe I know it is a species of Homalomena but rubenscens usually does not have the hairs on the stems. I have both forms. Michael M you know the exact species off hand??

Hey...yes this is a Homalomena, I think it was collected by Betsy in Ecuador. Probably a form of H. picturata but possibly something else. Where did you get yours? Mine is kind of looking rough.

I was given this plant. The tag had that name on it...I can take a better pic of the leaf later this evening..
