Beautiful birds! I'm just dying for a pair of these.

Your website is nice. Love your roses! Do you grow grafted or own root?

Gwen

Cedar Springs, MI(Zone 5b)

Thanks Gwen :)
I will have goslings and breeding stock for sale in 2007.
On the roses...I grow both own root and grafted.

Lumberton, TX(Zone 8b)

Beautiful birds!! Thanks for sharing.

Humansville, MO(Zone 6a)

How old would the geese need to be to be able to be moved around in a truck or van here and there for three or four days before they got their long drive to their new home what i was thing i might get a pair some time next spring in may or early june will be close to you I'll be at Belding and Greenville Ionia to see freinds You cant be to far from there being 40 north of GR

Cedar Springs, MI(Zone 5b)

Dave
I'm about 15-20 minutes from Greenville.
I wouldn't recommend hauling goslings around for 3-4 days.
They need a heat lamp and more TLC when at that stage.
Once feathered out they would be fine if they had water and feed.

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

Well, would you look at that, so neat looking,

thanks for sharing.

Argyle, TX(Zone 7b)

If the answer is not A., then I am going to guess that it is a cross between a Frizzle Cochin and a Goose.

Claremore, OK(Zone 6a)

Do they lay eggs like chickens ? And are they good to eat ?

Northern Michigan, MI(Zone 5a)

The pics of them in the snow are really nice !!! I had no idea geese could look like that...lol.

Cedar Springs, MI(Zone 5b)

Peggie all birds lay eggs...guess I'm not sure what you mean. We haven't eaten any yet. Since I can sell the adults for $100. a piece it wouldn't be prudent to eat them. ;-)

jab...they are a unique mutation.

DFW area, TX(Zone 7b)

Absolutely gorgeous creatures ! Like something out of
a fairytale. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful
photos.

Who could kill such a lovely thing ? Your website is a joy
to look at. Thank you.

Cedar Springs, MI(Zone 5b)

Thank you Mahnot.
I haven't eaten any yet but if I had an extra naughty gander I suppose I could. ;-)

DFW area, TX(Zone 7b)

Say it isn't so !

I forwarded your site to my daughter and she said that
she gasped from the joy of just knowing that God had
made something so beautiful. She said to thank you.
Happy New Year.

Cedar Springs, MI(Zone 5b)

Glad she enjoyed my website. :)

Shepherd, TX(Zone 8b)

I so want a pair of these, but as it is, the pair of geese I have now my husband is making me find homes for. He can't take the honking. :-( Sebastapols are so beautiful!

Cedar Springs, MI(Zone 5b)

QB
Sebastopols really aren't noisy like other breeds of geese. That was a big factor with me as well (noise) and I have been really happy with my Sebastopols. They honk for just a minute or so when I let them out and other than that theres not much honking going on. Thye mostly honk when greeting you but quiet down after they have said hello.

Shepherd, TX(Zone 8b)

I don't mind it myself, it's him who has a thing against geese in general. :-(

Novinger, MO(Zone 5b)

I was wading through old threads and came across this one. I just saw a pair of these geese at an auction and was in absolute awe of how beautiful they are. I asked everyone what kind of geese they were and no one seemed to know......the auctioneer didn't even say when they were sold. Oh, how I wish they had come home with me!!

Anybody know if the chicken fairy delivers geese too? : )

Cedar Springs, MI(Zone 5b)

Surprised to see this old thread resurrected.
Here's another fluffy Sebastopol to add to it.
My sweet Soufflé.
Hope you get some.
You will LOVE them!

Not chicken fairy--Mother Goose.

Foley, MO

LOL Catscan: ) Very beautiful birds, maybe I could get some and stick them amongst the ducks incognito: ) Nah, he'd notice these guys.

Luther, MI(Zone 4b)

Rose, these are absolutely the first geese I would even consider getting. But, I would have to think long and hard about getting anything other than the chickens I already have. They are gorgeous!!

GG

Since this is the first year for guineas here, I will see how that goes before I start thinking about anything else.

Novinger, MO(Zone 5b)

Catscan.....Mother Goose, huh? Wouldn't happen to have her contact info, would ya? : )

Thanks for posting the new pic Cottage_Rose. They truly take my breath away! The ones I saw at the auction were not nearly as clean as yours, but I saw the possibilities. So pretty! I can just see a pair or 5 swimming around on my pond. I don't even have any and I am already in love!

Patch, don't think you could hide those, huh? lol Your right, that would be about trying to hope a peacock didn't stick out or catch the eye!

Oh oh Granny....the seed has been planted...........^_^

Luther, MI(Zone 4b)

Ladybugs, the seed might have been planted, but DH put his foot down and said: "NO WAY!!!". Plus, I would only be thinking about it. I have too much on my plate and some of it isn't getting done now. Healthwise, arthur is kicking my a** right now, so it's out of the question. Of course, I could always go visit cottage_rose and look. She lives less than 100 miles from us. (I think)

Ladybug all any waterfowl need to stay in tip top conditon is a kiddie pool with clean water daily and a proper diet.

I wish I had gotten geese (Sebastopols) MUCH sooner in life.
I put off getting geese for years because I heard they were mean.
Well some breeds can be aggressive such as Africans and Chinese but the Sebs make very nice pets. SO intelligent, personable and sweet when bonded to humans at birth. Chickens and ducks can't even compare to the personality that geese have. They are very special!
If anybody is considering geese, try Sebastopols or American Buffs. Both breeds tend to be more gentle but all ganders can be brats during the breeding season (for Sebs Feb. - May) no matter the breed.
See my website for more photos and info (especially see my Seb and raising waterfowl tip pages) and no I don't have any geese for sale.
Sold out for 2008.

Cottage_Rose I have White Chinese geese and the hen is so tame I can pet her on her head or back! Both of them will eat from my hand and never hurt me. They follow me around as though I were a flock leader. I think it's all in how a goose is raised that makes them mean or not.

Walpole, NH

Cottage Rose, I know you are not selling any birds, but I was curious what the price is that these birds go for. They are beautiful.

Cedar Springs, MI(Zone 5b)

Janas
You can read details on my sales page.
(link above)

Molly in any breed there are nice ones and bad ones but from what I've heard Chinese and Africans tend to be more aggressive.

Walpole, NH

I tried to get there on your link, but there is some error that comes up saying it cannot find the page. Dont know if it is the site or my computer! I live out in the woods and have satelite internet. Better than the dial up it used to be!

Cedar Springs, MI(Zone 5b)

Sorry about that janas
I just tried the link and it worked okay for me.
I sent you a d-mail.

Luther, MI(Zone 4b)

Rose, I also just tried your site. I was able to get into it, but when I clicked onto the "sales page", it does come up with "oops! we can't find that page". (I was also interested in the prices)

GG

Cedar Springs, MI(Zone 5b)

Hmmm...not sure why thats happening.
Did you try the links on the top of the page?
Maybe try later.

Luther, MI(Zone 4b)

Okay, Rose, I was able to get into your sales page from the link at the top. Thanks.

Rose, the geese are beautiful. And, looking at
the snow pictures is so refreshing! It's so hot
right now, even great pictures help! Thanks!

PERTH, Australia

Cottage_Rose, the image of the geese in the snow is astoundingly beautiful. I'd never even heard of these lovely birds before happening upon your thread tonight. Look forward to more. You are now being "watched".
