I have had this plant in water for about 5 years and it has been doing great. I went out of town for 5 days and came back and my leaves are turning yellow it might have been 65 in house but I have had the heat at 60-63 and it was fine I do give it plant food maybe I over feed it does anyone now what it could be?

My Leaves are turning Yellow
Are there just two leaves turning yellow? Is there any rot at the base of the leaves?
2 leave right in the middle the plant have been in water forever it does not look like rot at all it is just the 2 thanks Kim
I would saw it is 'just one of those things'...something disturbed the node...an insect perhaps...I would look for any signs of fungus or rot and just keep an eye out. Plants tend to lose leaves from time to time...
Thanks for the information I will not worry about it Hope you have a great Holiday season
Kim
My hoyas tend to yellow a little during the winter months inside but as soon as springs comes and I can put them back outside they are find.

Dimmer...do you mean you grow it just in water? If so, it may be lacking in some mineral or something. Why don't you plant it in some soil mix?
Marcy
Good point, Marcy...
Dimmer...do you fertilize the water?
Yes I do put fertilizer in I have been growing this in water I think from 1999 I have also taken off cuttingThe vase came from my grandmother and have kept it in I got the cutting from my Father when he had a heart attack( Bad Speller) he got that plant and I took a cutting he doing great(Dad) Maybe I should wash it out and put fresh water and fertilizer I moved here from Michigan about 1 year and have not change the water scents than maybe it will be better
I would remove those 2 leaves and dispose of them and then if it looked kinda bare I'd take a cutting and have another plant.
Ok Today I just change the water, added a little fretilizer and put in the eastern window I had it on my cabnet it was facing west but had very very little lite so I am going to see what will happen here in the east instead of the west. I also haven't had any flower for about 3 years . so lets see what will happen Thanks again Kim
