rooting in water help

Fuquay-Varina, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm trying to root my DS-70 and a currently unknown hoya in water like you all suggested. Problem is, it seems like there is a slime growing over the submersed parts.

help help SOS!!

Dunno much about water rooting....but you might change the water, take the slime off and then put alum. foil aroud the glass so algae doesn't grow in sunlight.

Hi All

Does anyone know if H202 would keep the slime down?

and this is why I lurve you miss alohahoyagrowsthebiggestdarnhoyas!

sorry I never got back with you with calendar information. I got fired last week for reasons that would benefit a compost bin.

I'll try the tinfoil and let ya know how it progresses

Here's a suggestion for rooting in water. My mom is 84 and has a green thumb that the Jolly Green Giant would envy. She puts anything in water and it roots like crazy. She finally told me her secret: she uses dark colored glass bottles and or vases which justifies the alum foil method. Years back I had a rooting hormone that was to be used in water that helps, but I haven't looked for it lately. Not sure where to find it. Cindy
