Well during their Summer vacation outdoors my Staghorns have picked up a bit of scale.
Any ideas for treatment?
I'd prefer not to use a systemic.
Otherwise they had a great growing season.

Scale on Staghorns
Ric,
Jist found some on my blue corydeline,I just sprayed it with some neem oil.which has worked before in the past,on scale.Might have to spray it a couple more times to get it all!
i had some on mine and i used peroxide, straight, on a q-tip. with good results
hap
Thanks Hap,thats a new one for me,regular medical peroixde!
Thanks hap!
I have peroxide I'll give it a shot.
I was afraid to use Neem or Safers on these ferns.
I wasn't sure how they would take it.
Just keeping them growing for two years has been pretty amazing for me.
I'm 'almost' confident enough to try mounting them...........
Ric
Well, I did mount mine and it is growing very well. My question is, how do you fertilize a staghorn fern growing in this fashion?
Mine is mounted in a wire basket which is hanging on its side. The basket is mostly filled with peat moss.
guys, i don't fert at all.....just keep throwing banana peels in the top.
my poor baby is still recovering from Wilma. at the rate that this is happening, it will be at least another 2-3 years to full recovery. ugh!!!!

Shows how though they really are though hap....
I sent JanetOC Spanish Moss to replace hers.
Seems all the Moss in OC got blown away.
She 'seeded' the neighborhood! LOL
