Cool!

This is a B. x candida seedling that my friend sent me as a gift. It blooms mostly in singles with an occasional double. Isn't it pretty? I just had to show it off since it is blooming its heart out in November. It is very susceptible to catepillar damage though. Please excuse the dirty fingers!

Looks so soft and pretty, I want to rub it up against my face. Does it have a wonderful scent to go along with that beauty?

It looks just like a Georgia O'Keefe painting. Such a lovely combination of colors too, like a sunset. Inspirational!

Well, thank you very much, everyone, for all your lovely comments. I've been busy digging it up! I planted it in a terrible place right by the hose against the house. It had a very deep tap root which broke off, but I managed to get a small root system intact. I trimmed off a bunch of the leaves and some of the stems to compensate and watered with some B-1 when I replanted it. I surely hope it proves to be as tough as my other ones.

I have not really detected that much of a fragrance from it -- maybe real soft like Ecuador Pink. I will go out and smell it tonight and report back!

I've got to go look up Georgia O'Keefe now!

Jackie, couldn't resist? What did I miss?

Clare

Edited to fix word omission.

Thanks, Sherry!

I actually got this one from my good friend, Brad. He was lucky enough to trade with a fellow collector for a few German varieties a while back, and being the generous guy he is, he shared his good fortune with me. Thanks, Brad! Oh, and her name is 'Joli.'

WOW, I came late to this party. I love your double pink, Clare. So pretty! And such color. Was it a seedling you grew or from a cutting? Do you know the parents?

And what rose is that? I LOVE it! There is nothing more beautiful than a perfect red rose. Not even a corpse flower. LOL. Is that 'Ingrid Bergman'? We are talking about Ingrid on the Rose Forum as the PERFECT red rose. I find 'Opening Night" is my perfect red rose. Your camera really takes great red pictures.

Thanks for always being there for me!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

We cross posted. I always get sidetracked mid posting. We just got in from our walk. Tom wants dinner now. So I best get backup. It is fun to see 'Duchess' again too, Clare!

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Hi Kell! I grew it from a cutting that Brad shared with me. It's called 'Joli,' and it is one of Kirchner-abel's B. x candida hybrid seedlings. Brad traded with a collector for some really nice German varieties and shared a couple with me! Yippee!

The first pic is Mister Lincoln, and the second pic is Chrysler Imperial, I think. I forget now about the second one because it has been so long since I bought it and planted it. The second one could be either Chrysler Imperial or Oklahoma. I can check tomorrow to see if it still has the tag on it.

Thanks again, Kell, for that lovely gift. I'll always be there to support you when you need a friend:-) This is Mister Lincoln, taken last year with a different camera.

LOL! We cross posted again:-) We are always doing that! It's cause our fingers are flying! Off to make dinner too:-)

The pictures are gorgeous.
Posting right after Patootie, and seeing that we share a name, I was in silly mode and posted the same post. (Sorry, it just struck me as funny.)
Thanks for sharing these pictures. They are wondeful. Congratulations!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I have Mr. Lincoln too! I forgot what a gorgeous rose that is. And HUGE!! Both your cameras really do a great job. I am on the hunt for a new digital myself.

Brad is such a generous guy. I have his plumie cuttings on heat. I need to go visit them. LOL I have a couple of Kirchner-Abel's brugs, they are great. So many brugs, such little time. LOL

Well I just served a salad while our eggplant parmesan is still cooking. I am such a bad cook. LOL

Brigham City, UT(Zone 5b)

Clare,

Beautiful brugs and roses. I am in agreement with all the others. The flower for Kell is just right. The fragrance of Mr Lincoln is fabulous. My father liked that one the best. Now I take them up to mother and tell her its from daddy. Aren't flowers wonderful rememberances of the days gone past. They bring them right back to you.

Thanks for sharing,

Marie

LOL, Jackie! I get it now! I'm a little slow sometimes on the uptake as they say! Silly-mode is wonderful:-) I love silly people. Thanks for the compliment.

Kell, this is a different Brad but an equally great guy. This Brad goes by ncasselberryfla. The other Brad with the plumies goes by FlyboyFL. They both live in Florida! LOL!

I accidentally dropped my Kodak and broke it a few weeks ago so now I'm using a Samsung Digimax that belonged to my husband. I thought my husband would be really mad, but he wasn't really. I'm sure he'll hold it against me later! When he gave me the Samsung to use, I asked him if there was anything that I needed to know about using it. He replied, "Yeah, don't drop it." LOL!

Kell, you sound like a wonderful cook! I made cheese enchiladas with Velveeta so that tells you what kind of cook I am! LOL!

Thanks, Marie. That's lovely.

I thinks this one is Oklahoma if I'm not mistaken.

I've enjoyed looking at your beautiful photographs Clare. Is there a thread somewhere that shows a tour of your garden? You have beautiful plants and I'd love to see more.

Colts Neck, NJ(Zone 7a)

Clare, this site has some O'Keefe prints. The one called "Bella Donna" sure looks like a brug or dat to me.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks, Delecie! My pics are posted in quite a few places here at Dave's, but I don't have a particular site where I keep them. Some of my front yard shots are in this link: http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/641921/ My yard keeps changing all the time. For instance, I had a row of roses against the house but took them out to put plumerias there (ducking). LOL! I had put in the roses a couple of years earlier. I frequently plant things and decide to dig them up later! If a plant, vine, or tree requires too much maintenance for my limited yard time, then it usually comes out.

Thanks, Sofi! I do see what you guys mean now. I agree with you that her "Bella Donna" is a brug or datura.
