Oreo Truffles (easy & decadent)

Des Moines, IA(Zone 5a)

I just made these for a friend whose B'day is on Thanksgiving day (she wont be cooking!) Its a recipe from Kraft Foods:

Oreo Truffles

1 Pkg Oreo cookies
1 Pkg Philly cream cheese (softened)
2 Pkg Bakers Semi Sweet Baking chocolate (melted-follow instuctions on Bakers choc box)

Reserve 9 cookies & crush - set aside (for topping each Truffle after coated in chocolate)
Crush remaining Cookies (either w/rolling pin or food processer)
Add cream cheese to the large amount of crushed cookies ( I used my food processer to mix )

shape into balls & dip into melted chocolate and lay onto parchment or wax paper--- put in fridge to harden
until firm (usually at least an hour). Can be frozen.

This recipe is supposed to make 42 truffles --- I made the balls larger & had about 24. These are very
rich but what a nice surprize for someone as a decadent gift .... I divided all of mine into small batches
for gifts for others & froze them. You can usually get cute little gift bags or Asian take out containers
really cheap @ the dollar store, so mine are in Christmas bags to give as small gifts, they would make
nice "hostess" gifts too.
