I recently adopted two 10 y.o. Ragdolls. They were outdoor cats when we got them but we give them the best of both worlds. Indoors for feeding, sleeping, playing and a backyard that is surrounded by 8ft fences for sleeping, playing, lurking.... (they are too lazy to try and jump the fences and the gaps under our gates are too small for them to fit under).
These two boys are just beautiful, perfectly healthy, lovely natures, still quite playful, but they hate to be picked up. I can't understand it, particularly as they are Ragdolls and not supposed to mind. They like to sleep on my bed at night, one of them will sit on the sofa with me or on my desk while I'm working. The other is more standoffish and prefers to spend all of his days asleep in the bushes, but when he does come in for a pet he gets all frenzied and starts to drool and purr like crazy.
Has anyone else had any experiences like this? I would like to be able to pick up my cats and not have them start yowling and struggling to get down.
This is Sydney asleep in a planter.
