New Dbl. pink

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

This is a seedling I either grew out in 2005 or 2006. The tag was lost on it so I have know way of knowing who the hybernizer is.

A while back one of the ladies on this forum was telling how she had torn apart some buds to see whether or not her's was a double. Well, after hearing her post, and having so many that hadn't bloomed yet, I did the same thing, so I knew this was going to be a dbl. but expected it to be white like all my other's that had bloomed. So yes, it was a surprise and a very nice one at that.

I hope we all have such a happy surprise, Patricia. You lucky duck!! I think that was Joyce who has such gusto for her new seedings. She is such fun to follow.

LOL My ears are burnin! LOL Yup... I'm the bud snatcher.. and if I've already seen one, I never miss a bud on the ground that has fallen.. I KNOW my babiez inside and out! LOL

You have no idea how much I sit with my brug babiez...

Oh Patricia.. I'm just sick with excitement for you! Congratulations!! It is SOOO BEAUTIFUL.. Oh My Look at the swirls.. I love it.

I am very happy for you, what a great surprise!

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

ZZsBabiez, I owe you a big thanks !! When I starting digging the seedlings and got to that one, my first thought was, I will just toss it since I don't know what it is. Then I remembered your post and picked off a bud and saw it was a double. I knew it was a long shot and I only had room in the greenhouse for one more lg. plant. Boy am I glad I didn't toss it now.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

No way!! That is so cool... It makes me really feel good to inspire anyone, especially when it turns out so good! I'm so jazzed for you. I was so thrilled for you.. really even though I am a little green with envy, since my pure white, hinky, puffy, flappy, wanna-be double was all the rage for a day or so..LOL :-) LOL I crack me up.

That is one beautiful Brug. How large is the entire plant? I would love to see a picture of it. I am starting my first cuttings and love to see the plants so I can dream about what I have gotten myself into. Between Plumerias and Brugs, I think I will have to rent greenhouse space next winter. My atrium can barely handle the babies for this winter. : )

Patricia, did your body survive the holiday?

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Patricia, Congratulations!!! Its a beauty!

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Hi Tammie, This brug. only grew to about 6 ft. tall for me this year. But we had a very cold and late Spring, so I didn't get my brugs. out into the ground until mid April, where usually I have them out mid March. By the time I knew I needed to get it inside because we could have frost any day, it was absolutely loaded with buds. I had taken one of the buds apart to see if it was a double for not, so I knew it was a double. In the greenhouse, it has taken on a lovely shape but was smaller than my B. facination, but that could be because of the cold temps. when it was developing and our cold nights in the greenhouse since I am not heating it this year. But I did like the shape as well as B. facination.

Kay, I survived the holiday with my daughters family leaving early this morning. Tomorrow will be a true day of rest for me. I refuse to be told I have to get anything done. My DH even went out this evening to bring dinner home for me since I have been cooking almost constantly since last Tues.

xomed28, Thank you, I just wish I had'nt lost the tag so I could give credit where credit was deserved.

Beautiful color. The ones I have seen on these posts are all so perfect. I am looking forward to seeing the ones that have been sent by fellow DGs. Summer time is alway exciting when you're waiting for a new flower. All of you are great gardners. Elaine
